What were you most wrong about this year?

I'd have to say the entire team play as a whole. I did not expect us to be undefeated, but I expected a solid D line and a better than average secondary with great LB play, got just a tad out of Lee, man hes bad @**. But the d line fell apart quickly through stupidity and injury and the rest of the defense could not protect the line. I expected a better than average passing attack with a solid running game to kill the clock at the end of the game. Well, I got the pass happy I wanted and I think we have a good ground game, but we wont use it!!! But this is not what I wnted out of pass happy, Romo's just a gunslinger and thats all hes ever gunna be I guess. I was trying to be realistic at about 10-6 and NFC champs and at least show solid play in the playoff, win or lose. I would have been happy with that. This team was horrendous, the D was record setting bad and the offense stunk to high heaven. The coaching, game planing was weak, we dont play to our players strengths and we dont play to take advantage of the opponents weaknesses. Time management is an entire 2 hour comedy reel fit for prime time NFL bloopers just on the cowboys screw ups alone. The squabbling about whos calling the plays and is Dez crying again are so immature I really do start to feel embarrassed for the team. I just expected a more professional under control clubhouse with solid play on the field and really got none of it. So I would have to say the team really let me down from top to bottom, AGAIN! I think I've learnt to not set my bar so high, we'll see what happens this coming preseason.

well i had missing the playoffs, missing the division champs, but i didnt figure the loss would give us our first loss in the division as well. I was spot on with Garrett, so no shock there.

I really didnt think Kiffen would be this horrendous. At least i can take solace he broke a record or two, well definetely one, BUT it was the wrong record to break.

I didn't think Kiffen was bad but I did think Garrett would be much better this year. Garrett isn't as far along in football knowledge as I thought. I do think he'll continue to grow however. If we give Kiffen the talent this off season Garrett most take us above 8 and 8.

Both sides of our political parties would stop being children and actually start working together for the betterment of their people like they are supposed to do.

Now that I think about it- I can't believe I ever thought that in the first place given the current political climate...

What? Wrong forum? Hey- he asked the question!

Since people already covered the obvious with Bruce Carter, I'll add I thought the Brian Waters signing was a waste. Turns out I was half right since he got injured but he played well and was a good signing.

I also thought it would be ridiculous to see about Urlacher coming to Dallas. In hindsight, he might have been one of our best LBs (which isn't saying much) or maybe he would have just got hurt like Lee and Carter and Durant and Sims and etc.

I didn't think Bernadeau could ever become even a passable guard, and thought Bruce Carter was going to be an impact player on our D.

I was wrong when I said prior to the season that the defense couldn't get any worse.

I was wrong about Macky B and Free. I thought it was a big mistake to keep them on the roster and was glad to be wrong. I was also wrong about Carter. I thought he was going to tear it up on the weakside. I was also wrong about the Dline. I figured Ware, Spencer, Hatcher, and Ratliff were going to tear it up.

I was wrong about Matt Johnson... I thought he'd be able to play the whole season. SIlly me!

Tony Romo and Demarco Murray..

And, Sean Lee, he truly is glass.

I was calling for Doug Free to be released, I didn't think he had that kind of turn around in him, gives me pause writing off Demarcus Ware BIG TIME.
When Bernadau had to go back in I thought it was all over for the O Line, and he really proved a lot of us wrong by holding his end up.
I thought no playoffs equals no more Garrett.

I'm happy that I was wrong about two of those.

I wouldn't say I was wrong because I didn't know, but I was really hoping Garrett (aka: Jerry's pet) would be a better head coach / game clock manager if he didn't have offensive responsibilities. He proved beyond a shadow of a doubt this year that he just plain sucks in that department. I guess Jerry needs to train him better.:(

I thought the Cowboys would be 3-3 or 4-2 within the division......................who'd have thought they'd be a mere field goal away from a 6-0 sweep of the NFC East?

while going 3-7 outside the division.

I thought having Kiffen and Marinelli was going to be great. I also thought our OL would be horrendous again.

I was wrong about Matt Johnson... I thought he'd be able to play the whole season. SIlly me!

the tiny bit i saw from him on the field in preseason...he looks like a difference maker.

but...he got injured again..

he did look like a player though.

his college highlights are very impressive..

I was wrong about Dez Bryant.

I thought he would have improved on his numbers from the previous year, and was going to approach an all time great season by a receiver. But instead he pretty much had the same year. Great season, but not what I thought he was going to do. Injuries to himself and Romo may have played a part in this.

2012: 92 Catches, 1382 yards, 12 TD's
2013: 93 Catches, 1233 yards, 13 TD's

He actually had improved 400 yards and 3 TD's each season up to this point. So i was expecting a natural progression to:
100+ catches, 1650 yards, 15 TD's.

I still believe Dez's best years are ahead of him. He just turned 25, and will be entering his 5th season. Calvin Johnson had a spike in numbers in his 5th and 6th seasons (Age 26 and 27). Andre Johnson in his 6th and 7th seasons (Age 27 and 28)

2 things
1.That Bruce Carter wouldn't suck
2.I thought they would go 7-9
