What will actually happen

My Cowboys draft prediction.

4. Jalen Ramsey CB- this is a no-brainer and the only thing that can stop it from happening is if SD takes him or trades their pick to someone else that takes him. Excelled at 3 different positions in 3 years against high level competition.. If he is gone look for Dallas to trade back and even lose value if needed. Trade back options Zeke, Lawson, Rankins, Hargreaves.

34. Kenny Clark DT- This is the toughest choice for me and I have been on the Joseph train but there is no way he falls to 34. Too many teams need safety help and he wont make it. Spence is another guy I think they hope drops and i could even see them trading up to grab him if he slips a little but I think he go's too early. I think they feel that pressure can come from anywhere and a DT will help just as much as a DE especially when they can move Crawford around. Vonn Bell, Dodd, Vernon Butler and Sterling Sheppard are other options but Clark is my guess.

67. Dak Prescott QB - I hate this pick but I think it is what they will do. Boyd, Xavier Howard, Kendall Fuller and Henry are other options.

101 - Ronald Blair DE - I think they want to double dip on the DL. If they use the money saved on the Carr pay cut to sign Jason Jones then I would change this pick. Paul Perkins is the guy I would want here if available. Kenny Lawler, Mcgovern, Seumalo, Prosise, Ridgeway, Tapper are other posibilities.

135 - Justin Simmons SS - I think they want to double dip in the secondary as well. Other options Killebrew, Murray, Byard. I personally would be looking for a LB here. Matakevich, Striker types would be my hope. RB here could happen too with Ervin, Lasco, Jonathan Williams types.

I wont even try to do the 6th rd but that is my guess on how the draft will go.

I agree this is the likely scenario but that is a bad draft IMO. Hate the top 3 picks as there are better options

I don't think it is a bad draft but I sure hate the 3rd rd pick. Pick 67 could be a starting caliber player and I think better options for backup QB could be found if they were to get creative. Foles, Glennon, McCown even using a later pick on Hogan but unfortunately I think Prescott is their guy.

Ramsey is going to be an absolute beast and do things we haven't seen in a long time around here. I think Clark will be a good player and allow the team to move around Crawford and Irving giving them some flexibility while Gregory and Lawrence are out and in case they are out again in the future.

Kenny Clark? Why Kenny Clark? Is there a rumor that we want him?

You know, I'd be willing to bet we don't take a DT till at least day 3. We have several 3 techs (yes they are converted DEs, but that's also what Marinelli wants) in TCrawford, JCrawford, DIrving and RRussell and with CThorton manning the 1 tech, I don't see us taking a DT at #34. I think we'll take a DE if Emmanuel Ogbah falls to us, maybe even a WR if Josh Dotson or one of several CBs if we don't take Ramsey in round 1, but I do not see us taking a DT.

This. once we signed Thornton, a 2nd round DT kinda went out the door. only day 2 DT i see us drafting is Sheldon Day in the 3rd.

Dallas has s horrible draft success rate after the first, so I just hope to see s starter or two. It would be an improvement.

Sadly agree on the Prescott pick. I'm hoping we've telegraphed it so badly that some other team will hop in front of us. I don't hate him, but he's more palatable to me in the 4th.

if we went Ramsey in RD1, I think DE is the more likely option in RD2 rather than a 1tech who'd be playing behind Thornton. I have a very hard time seeing us not taking a DE by the end of day 2.

What do you guys think of taking Jaylon Smith in the 3rd round if he is still there?
I would like to see Bosa over Ramsey in the first. We need a pass rush! We can get a top tier safety or CB in the 2nd round. Also, have you looked at Darian Thompson, S, Boise State? He is a BALL HAWK! He could be a steal in the 4th round.

Rumor page on USA Today said we met with Dak Prescott again on Tuesday...hard to see how we dont take him at this pointe. Gotta hope someone beats us to the punch.

That's the one that sticks out like a sore thumb to me. Less than zero chance that he's the pick there for this team.

None of us do. Because it's not happening.

Why play to strength of the draft to shore up unit that woefully underperformed last year?

Just like we ignored RB in 2015.

sounds logical but thats not what we are going to do. the 2nd round is full of top level nose tackles. I can fully understand Vernon Butler if he is still on the board because he has big pass rush potential from the interior but what are we going to do with one of the top rated run stuffers? we took care of that in free agency.

Your likely right. My rhetorical question and frustration was directed at the Boys if they pursue this course.
