What will music be like in 20 years

Imagine when current US bands/singers start using the technology to host all of their "tour" concerts.

They could perform in a theatre or stadium somewhere or even a studio and then have their movements and audio distributing live to concerts all over the country or world.

We are already seeing a lot of bands intentionally playing at smaller venues (200-500 people). It's less setup, easier to schedule, costs less to produce and fewer tickets means a higher premium especially for those closer to center stage.

The recording industry will realize eventually that a way to offset the smaller venues is to either stream the concerts live (more realistic now than a few years ago) as pay-per-view.

Think of it like this. Let's say you are a big fan of a band .. you could could purchase a tour pass and get to watch every concert they make on tour by streaming. There are some die-hard fans out there that would love that, especially younger fans.

I think everyone I know enjoys going to concerts because they get to be right there with the artist.

Oh I agree, which is why I said more bands are moving to more concerts that are played in smaller venues.

What I also said though is that some people would like to watch more or all of the concerts which is not realistic for most people to attend in person. In fact, some people may not live near any tour destination or may not be able to travel, so having a live streaming option would be a great alternative.

I think you are right
They are targeting the younger kids with AI thing and you know what it will work for them.they already get them with social media so the transition won't be hard.the future will be run by silicon valley ...
 
Everyday the people of the world get more and more lazy.

This is the future if some of these morons don't commit mass genocide first.

several months ago i did an interview with a girl who just graduated..the first word she said before we even talk if the payment is less than 40$ an hour i won't take the job..I replied here is the door...end of the interview

Who raised them?

I get into this Greatest Generation debate with a lot of people I know and while I agree when it came to making sacrifices and resiliency, they were unmatched. However, they weren't great parents as they lost the lessons taught by their parents and we Boomers would have been better to pay more attention to our grandparents than our parents.

My generation was the first ME generation and the ME generation wasn't great at raising THEM.

True but one thing I discovered, this purist attitude I had for so long that it had to be rock, real rock with real instruments was put to the test when I actually allowed myself to expose myself to more music genre and what I had once scoffed at as not real music, Electronica and all of it's derivatives, became a music preference.

I've tried Hip Hop and Rap but it doesn't speak to me and music has always been emotion to me. I don't care for Country but I still like some Country songs and I don't know if I like Pop because I don't listen to it.

I am a Boomer and I am the only one I know that will listen to what I do. Most are still stuck back there, which is perfectly fine since music is a preference, but what I have discovered is it is more the lack of exposure and preconditioning to not even give it a chance.

The other thing I know is that few could ever spend an hour on the patio with me in charge of the music. I am so all over the place because one riff or even a note can connect me to another song and another and another. One thing you wouldn't hear is "I don't like this music" because we wouldn't be on the same music long enough. After I moved in where I am now, I was out on the patio that first weekend, a party of one, and my neighbor happened to have her doors open and her sisters were visiting. I saw them the next morning and she said that was quite a gathering on your patio, did you let everyone pick their favorite music. I told her "I was alone but I did let every personality pick their own". She laughed, a little nervously, and in the last 4 years has pretty much kept her distance. I don't think she thinks I am dangerous, just not normal. No, defintely not normal.

I would love to see more research into exactly what music does to us because I know at times I am searching and it's either to match a mood or get me out of it but I don't know exactly what I am seeking. And I don't always find it.
