Sustained drives. Decent third down efficiency. A whole field to read and using all his weapons when open.
Evidence of good vision, checking down, positive attitude.
"Taking care of the ball". Vocal and spirited leadership. No panic if we get behind.

A special slice of 'moxie' would be nice, a win would be even nicer.

But the kid need just show that he belongs there..leading America's Team, and imo it will qualify as a 'good' game for him.

Couldnt of said it better myself.

I was going to say three picks and a W and I'll be fine - and I would - but that's not true. Bledsoe could do that.

He's just got to show that he's not incompetent - that he won't erase his flashes of brilliance with even brighter flashes of incompetence. As long as the game ends, and noone can say "Romo (nearly) cost us that game," I think that's a success.

I always felt yards per attempt was the most telling statistic. TD to INT ratio is also key but, Sometimes a QB will have an INT that is in no way his fault and sometimes he may HAVE some TD passes fall to the running game.

When I look at a passing game I heavily weight YPA.
5.00-6.00 terrible to poor
6.00-7.00 average to good
7.00-8.00 good to outstanding
8.00-9.00 Reserved for your probowl starter
9.00+ OFF THE CHARTS

Anyone want to guess Romo's YPA?
att com yds comp% ypa
64 92 833 69.6% 9.10 Preseason
16 27 262 59.2% 9.70 Regular season

I'll take completion % over YPA personally. Romo's YPA is quite impressive, but I wouldn't expect it to stay that way for too long.

I'm thinking something in the neighborhood of 15 for 27 for 285 yards, 3 TD and 1 INT will get the win. We win 28-24 and JJ goes over the century mark by the end of the 3rd quarter.

1 TD pass to each:
Witten
T.O.
Glenn

Let's see. 17/30 283/ no INT NO fumble 2 sacks - 2 TD's tons of successful drives and he gets out alive.

I'd also like to see him use the heck out of TO and Witten. Then the occassional bomb and out route to Glenn. Most of all, we need a win.

If he wins and keeps the mistakes to a minimum it's a good game. I don't care what his other stats are. Just give me those 2 things and I'll call it a good game.

No turnovers would be a good game for Romo. I'll take a botched snap, bad throw or 10 yard sack, as long he doesn't lose the football in the process. If we lose the game, I hope it's based on what Romo or others players didn't do or shoulda, coulda, woulda done....not about any turnovers Romo caused.
