What do you guys think would be the best way to address Center/Guard or Tackle/Guard in this draft?

I've expressed my displeasures with this franchise very vocally the last few months. But if we some how get a guard and tackle in this draft, I would be ecstatic. I don't think I can stand to hunchback Free anymore.

Could probably get Schwenke in the 3rd and Dallas Thomas in the 4th allowing you to draft defense 1 and 2. Both can play multiple positions BTW.

Depending on how things fall, I think the best the Cowboys could expect to do is Cooper/Armstead.

If we get lucky, maybe a tackle slips and you end up with something like Lane Johnson/Warford. Would have to be extremely lucky, but that would probably be the best scenario in terms of addressing OLine early.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion about Travis Fredrick. Top rated center and he is visiting. I think he'd be a fantastic pick in the second.

Cooper can also play center so that helps you. If a OG is higher rated than a center in the 2nd or 3rd you can take the OG and play cooper at Center.

But I would love Cooper/Schwenke or Cooper/Armstead combo.

I also really like Reid Fragel and David Quessenberry as late, 4th and 5th round players at RT.may not be day one ready but in a year or two they will be.

OG: Cooper (the perfect player for Callahan's Zone Blocking Scheme)

OT: Chris Faulk or Brennan Williams

NFLDS has Faulk as a 4th rounder and Williams as a 5th rounder. Both had season ending injuries in 2012.

Faulk had an ACL injury in September and Williams had a shoulder injury in September. Williams is expected to be recovered before training camp. I'm not certain of Faulk's injury status.

If healthy, either of these players could be day-1 starters at RT, IMO. Getting one of them in the 4th round would be a steal.

Yes I agree. I think both are going to go before the 4th. A combo with Faulk and Cooper would be a nice addition.

Frederick got down to 312 lbs at the combine from his college weight of 338 lbs.

He appeared slow in game footage; however, I thought he was just overweight. Unfortunately, he had a 1.91 ten yard time which is the slowest that I've seen for a draftable OLineman.

It has been discussed repeatedly here, but Callahan is trying to implement a Zone Blocking Scheme. This scheme is dependent on OLinemen being able to move from one spot to another very quickly. The difference between a very successful running play and a completely failed play can literally be the difference in an OLineman being 1-step late getting to his block.

At OG, Jonathan Cooper is the ultimate player for the ZBS.

At OC, Brian Schwenke is probably the best in this draft for the ZBS.

On a side note the Zone Blocking used by Alabama is not the same as the ZBS as implemented by Mike Shanahan and Callahan in the NFL. Alabama uses variations of the inside zone which is used to some extent by all NFL teams.

I would love some of these combos.

However I would also love to even get just one like Cooper.

Cooper at 18 for LG, Schwenke in the 3rd for C, and either Quessenberry or Fragel in the 4th or 5th for RT would make my day
