Earl Thomas was traded to, say Falcons or Packers and he did not want to play for
neither

I don't see any team giving that much up for a player slated to be a FA after this season, especially knowing he wants to play here. It would have to be a agreed upon new contract. Seattle could play hardball with ET and Dallas by shipping him to some other team but they won't get much in return.

The only way a team should meet Seattle's demands is if they know they can extend Thomas. He probably would refuse to report without a deal.

I suspect it would go down sort of like Mack to Chicago. The Bears wouldn't have given up what they did if there was any doubt they could reach an extension agreement with Mack. What was the first thing that happened when he got there? An extension.

Thomas can't just not report or he won't get credit for the year of service for free agency.

Jerry and Stephen could be in Seattle right now at a table with Thomas and his agent hammering out terms.

Cowboys shouldn't get too cocky thinking they're the only girl in town. ET actually wanted to stay in Seattle, but they wouldn't give him a new contract. He may still stay there if they pony up a new contract for him.

And does anyone think ET would be crying if he was traded to NE?

We're probably still high on his list because we've shown we're willing to overpay for him. He's marketed himself to us, and it worked. Good for him. Don't assume he's sold on us just because he's got so many of us sold on him.

Oh, he will go where the money is no doubt. I am saying a team won't trade a high draft pick without an agreement to lock him in a contract. Now, someone might throw in a late rounder for a rental but Seattle won't do that.
