I say, Julius/Ellis/18th/next years 1st/next years 3rd.

Bush is worth this type of money, and with Bush and TO on the team, you will have a home run threat offense on every play. We still have the tough MBlll on the team for punishing runs, and we can still pick up someone like Gocong or Mark Anderson or a dozen more OLBrs, plus get a safety and Guard in the draft. Thoughts....

I would love to have him, but we've come too far as a team this offseason to give up that much for one player.

it would probably take 5 more years of mediocrity as we make the Joey Galloway disaster: part II.
We would only give up 1 number 1, and that's next year.
WE would NOT give up any more picks this year. Ellis is not a 3-4 End, and Julius is a swap for Bush.

We gave up 2 for Galloway, so we can give up 1 for Bush..

Bush is going to be an electrifying back, but I still maintain he'll provide his own team some headaches because I don't think he'll be an every-down guy in the backfield. And, to me, you want your best back being given the ball on third and short...will he at this level, or will a team need a Marion Barber to bring in to replace him?

If you put Reggie Bush on our team right now... Do we win the Super Bowl? Yes...

I hear you, DAle, but Gayle Sayers and Barry Sanders, not to mention Tony Dorsett, weren't exactly short yardage backs either, but they did okay for themselves.

When you have a chance to get a talent like this, a Marshall Faulk type player, you change your offensive philosophy...you know you aren't going to be a grind it out, 12-15 play drive, offense...but you are going to score a lot of points.

With Tony D., we threw the ball a great deal on third down, practically inventing the 3rd down specialty back with Preston Pearson, and Tony seldom carried the ball more than 18-20 times a game, but he was a difference maker....I think Bush will be a great NFL player from day 1.

What would it take?

More than the Cowboys would be willing to give up.

Lucky for us we do have a Marion Barber to replace him if necessary.

Not that I think we will trade up for him. If we did make a big move up I think its more likely we would trade up for someone like Huff. Thats just MHO of course.

Just treating the trade honestly, I think you'd need bare minimum....

2006 1st rounder
2007 1st rounder
2006 2nd rounder
Julius Jones
Greg Ellis

and probably more from there....

I expect our pick next year to be around 29th or so. What will we get there? I don't see much.

We can always replace our 3rd round next year with a trade down or something. But we made a mistake by not trading Dat Nugyen or Glover last year when we knew those 2 were too small for this defense. Now Glover gets away and we get nothing for him.

Our 18th pick will move us up to 2. Our next years late round 1st and even 2nd rounder, which we can replenish. We move Ellis and JOnes and get a dynamic player, and all eyes on the Cowboys this year. We fill our other needs in the 2nd thru 7th rounds.

Ummm... No. Thats a little too much. I think we'd give up a little less.

An idiot front office with the rights to draft Bush. Oh wait, too late.
