I believe that the Cowboys should check with S.F. to see if a deal could be arranged to acquire the #6 pick in order to draft Vince Young if he indeed drops out of the top 5.Obviously,the 49ers are a team that needs many players and would be willing to listen to offers.Even if they like Vince, they are locked in to Alex Smiths' contract,so how about this:
Cowboys trade:
#18,1st round 2006
1st round 2007
3rd round 2006
Cowboys receive:
#6,1st round 2006
SF 2nd round 2007

I think I would kill myself if we did that. If we traded up that high, it'd better be to draft A.J. Hawk, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, or Mario Williams.

Of those 3, Ferguson is the only one I'd trade up for. Williams is an excellent player, but Spears and Canty are also very god. Hawk is a good player as well but I can't see spending a top 5-10 pick on a LB.

I wouldn't give up that much for VY. I'd rather he went to the Texans or the Titans so we don't have to play against the unorthodox offense he will bring; at least not often. But I'm not sure he will be anything more than a novelty.

I just don't see anyone that we need badly enough to make that move.

I wouldn't do it. But if it happened I wouldn't be dangling from the ledge ready to welcome the sweet embrace of the after life. If we sold out and drafted Young I'd go into the "We just traded away two firsts for Galloway" depression. My house would be filled with broken media sources, and I would carry around a little Jerry voodoo doll to shove my ballpoint into whenever I was reminded of football.

Great marketing idea! That would make some money, I'm sure. I'd buy one.

that would at least address a need. But I'm not to high on drafting UT players in the first round. They have a nasty habit of busting.

Well you obviously haven't watched Hawk much then.

If we can spend the #8 on Williams we sure as hell can spend 5-10 on Hawk.

I never have understood this thing about you don't take a LB or a NT or a TE or whatever at such and such a slot...To me if you have a chance to draft a great player and Hawk is a Great player...You do it and don't think twice.

Everything I type is a lie. Except that. And that.

Personally, I think Huff is an excellent free safety prospect, and most likely the best available. But when did he become a surefire top 10 pick? During most of the season I knew he was a very good player, probably a 1st or 2nd rounder. Then the season ended, and it seemed like he was a consensus top 10 prospect at free safety (a position almost never drafted in the top 10). What did I miss here?

Well,so much for that idea.Vikings moved quickly.Congrats to them if they end up with Vince. Now when Bledsoe and Brad Johnson are gone,I guess we know what team is set and which one will be scrambling-again.

This team is too close to give up that much on a player that needs a few years to develop.
