Alright, with all this talk about breaking the bank (both 1st rd draft picks) for either trading up for mcfadden or acquiring ocho or rw from detroit, how many of you would make this move if it meant at least 1 superbowl win? However, it meant that we couldn't lock up our upcoming contracts and lose alot of quality players, not to mention building for the future through the draft, and we would have to be a mediocre team for at least 5 years after the superbowl win. Would getting the sixth landry, i mean lombardi trophy be worth it to you????

I would go get McFadden. i keeo hearing all this crap about running backs that would be good compliments to barber. barber needs to be a complimentary back cause that's what he is. If we go into next season having barber getting 20 carries a game, than Wade really is a bad HC and Jerry has lost his mind.

I'm all for taking a risk on a player, but not at the expense of morgaging the team. Think back to the Joey Galloway trade: two 1st round picks for one supposedly explosive player. That set the Boys back a long way.

Someone would be stupid to not want DMAC, but at what expense? I think we are one or two players away from the big show, but we could also be one player away from setting the franchise back for years.

Dude come on and your one of the guys on here that usually makes alot sence but Barber getting 20 carries a game will be a good thing even if we somehow get McFadden

I would like to get DMAC too but he will be good at getting 10 carries a game and coming in on 3rd downs, kickoff returns etc. for at least first two yrs

Um, no. He's going to be the Jets' No. 1 back. Do you think Thomas Jones is going to hold onto his job? Doubt it. You don't draft an RB that high and make him your 3rd down back. That's insane.:bang2:

Barber needs a complimentary back, why we would trade BOTH 1st rounders for that position is ri-damn-diculous, considering the holes we need to be filling......

Care to guess what the easiest position to draft for is??????????

Your hypothetical needs to be corrected because it only shows the consequences of one choice, not the other. For instance, you lay out that if we trade for McFadden et. all, we will be set back 5 years after a Superbowl win, but you don't state what will happen if we don't trade for him. If we go that same 5+ years just on the cusp of the Superbowl but always falling short, I would say give me the Lombardi and I'll deal with the losing seasons.

Sorry, I'm assuming the Jets take him. Regardless of who does, the same applies. Even if we moved up to get him, it wouldn't be to spell MBIII, IMO.

I don't think it will with his running style. he's gonna get banged up or (knock on wood) hurt. I think the best way to use barber is 10-15 carries tops in the way that parcells used him(goaline, change of pace/closer)
