Offered a ticket to the Jet game on Sunday from my bro-in-law. He works for Pepsi and the tickets are in the corporate suite. I'm torn because the Jets are at 1pm meaning I will be in traffic while the Boys are playing at 4.

I know I could DVR the game or listen on the radio during the ride home but it's not the same. Is this proposition worth missing the Cowboys play in real time?

I think I would go to the Jets game and dvr the Boys game. Just to see what it is like to watch a game from a corp. suite. That would be a neat experience.

I would go if given that opportunity. Would have to listen to the 1st Quarter on the radio. Should have the other 3 quarters to watch live.

I have turned down free Cardinals tickets because the Cowboys were playing at the same time. However, they were not in a corporate suite. I think I would go just for the experience and catch the game when I got home (DVR)

Watch the Cowboy game in the suite.
Find a nice take home piece.
Profit.

go to the game, DVR the Cowboys, don't listen to the radio and then get home and watch the game as if it is "live" as it will be for you.

Corporate Suite will be a fun experience - haven't been to one at the new Meadowlands, but I imagine it's fantastic. They'll have a good spread, too.

sounds like a resounding consensus - go to the Jet game, enjoy the unique experience and keep yourself in a vacuum until you get home.

BTW, getting home from the Meadowlands to Long Island is easily a 3 hour tour. Getting out of the stadium parking lot and then dealing with traffic in these parts of town is out of control.

Thanks for your honest input!

No brainer. Go to the game and enjoy. Don't listen to anything to screw up the Boys game for you though. Besides you can FF thru the commercials.

And you call yourself a fan???? You are a disgrace! Give me the ticket and go watch the Cowboys game and let us never speak of this again!

Wow, I am surprised by the responses

I would not even consider going. Why on earth would you? Who cares about the jets? It's not even a good game. I wouldnt even think twice, just my opinion of course. But there's no way id go.

Realistically, what's the difference of live TV verse DVR a few hours later? I have to travel or work during games all the time and catch them that way, I still love it as long as I don't hear what happened.

It's not about the Jets, it's about a great experience. I've seen a few games in suites and it's awesome, especially if you don't care about the game. Free and excellent food and drink, great biz contacts and typically good looking gals. And you get to pretend your JJ, lol.

Now, if this was a playoff game, I'd agree with you, then call in sick to work or whatever it takes to see it live.

I don't know, I've never watched a game that wasnt live. I don't know if I would even have the self control to not know what happened/check the score. Aren't their scoreboards in the jets stadium? I've been in suites too, I don't think the experience is that special. If it helps create business contacts or has any kind of definitive business perks, I could understand that.

Seems like everyone except me would go to the Jets game, I have no problems admitting when I am in the wrong..apparently, this is one of those times. You are probably better off going to the Jets game, lol.

I travel a lot so I'm used to asking pilots to announce the score in flight, grab 3 minutes between TV's from one terminal to the next and that sort of thing. I guess it depends on what you're used to.

I watched a game in a 3rd world cyber cafe with a dirt floor with that old NFL site that just showed a field with lines showing ball movement and stats, lol. I kept losing signal and half the time the stats were wrong but the beer was cold, my jersey was on and the owner of the place taught me how to swear at the computer in a new language. It was great!

I've never not watched a Cowboys game live either. Don't know how I'm gonna pull it off cause if I know they're playing, I think I'd need to know what's happening. Not even a matter of self control or fooling myself that it'll be live for me when I watch it later....if it's on I need to know.

Will prob listen on the radio during the ride home and then watch the game after the fact so I can see the action.

When you think about it, it is an curious dilemma and interesting to hear others take on how they'd handle.

In any event, it's a good problem to have!

I'm with you. Unless it's the Cowboys, who cares?

But then I'm not impressed with status and hate corporate schmoozing... I'm weird like that.

Besides, everyone will probably be going for the Jets, or just not paying attention to the game. And what fun is that? I'd be rooting for Rex to lose, which probably wouldn't make me many friends. :)

But if it's your bro-in-law, maybe you feel like you should. I get that. And I've listened to the beginning of games many times, or even the whole thing, and watched it later. That's not bad at all, because the radio presentation gives you all kind of info that you never get on TV.

I'd go to the Jets game and then I'd try to find a friend who has the Sunday Ticket with the Mobile feature. Ask if you can borrow his/her login for the game and watch it on your phone on the way home.
