Whatever happened to this Cowboys FB of very recent vintage. Jamar Martin?

I ask because of all the talk about the present FB not being good enough.

Just a few years back Martin was drafted with one of the middle round draft choices, a third or fourth if I'm not mistaken. Might've been in Campo's last season. What happened to him?

Was he just a casualty of Parcells' house cleaning when he took over? When he was drafted, most Cowboys fans on this and other boards expected big things from MArtin.

I think he's on the Dolphins Practice Squad.

Why does everyone say "Parcells house cleaning" -- Most teams have a massive amount of turn over every 2 or 3 years. And we were a team that had a spate of awful drafts. The average NFL career is what, 4 years? Of course most of your players are gone after a few years.

Oh yeah -- Martin sucked. I didn't want to believe it -- every draft expert said "what is Jerry doing, taking a blocking FB who can't catch in round 4?" They were right. Martin wasn't useful. At least Polite can play special teams and make an occasional catch.

Polite is useless IMO. He's Moose without the blocking. Or Ritchie Anderson without the versatility. Maybe he can play special teams but so can plenty of backup linebackers. We need a real, blocking fullback.

IMO It was a mistake when he was released and it still is a mistake. I'd much rather see Martin blocking on the goal line than Spears running in to the pile hoping to hit someone.

It's too bad it did not work out for Martin in Dallas. I'm was rooting for him to make it.

Hey! If you must know, Parcells is in love with the single back sets. Can't blame polite for that and when he's in there he lays the wood to opponents. PLease watch the tapes before you complain about this kid. If parcells would use more play action passes and stop with the predictable play calling maybe teams will stop stacking 8 or 9 men atthe line of scrimmage.

I'm not saying that polite has not made mistakes but the kid does not avoid contact on the field, unlike darian OLE' barnes.
