but the fact remains,

Tony Romo can beat you.

Hang your hat on that kids, our QB is a monster, warts and all. Prepare for a wild finish to this season.

Give him the two minutes, one time-out, and he's an NFL assassin.

This offense is as dangerous as it gets. We have 3 solid receivers, one of the best tight ends in football and a good running game. Romo can certainly beat any secondary with our weapons.

With Miles back this passing attack is as dangerous as it gets.

Or give him two minutes, no timeouts, and he'll try to call one anyway.

Better yet, give him two minutes, two timeouts, and he'll spike the ball on you.

Romo's biggest enemy is Romo, and yes, he is talented but has deserved the criticism he gets. His situational football is horrid.

You're confusing what he does with what the HC should be doing. He's making up for the lack of situational awareness/ability to act by Garrett.

I am always comfortable if we have the ball, within one score, and the the situation you defined. Only worry is that Tony gets it done too soon and leaves time on the clock for the other team.

Romo is the consummate 4th quarter comeback kid.

You can never blame the QB for scoring too soon. If you need a td you take it whenever you can get it. Scoring is hard to do in the NFL. If you only need a FG and you are running off clock before you do it thats fine but thats the coach's call. You cant blame a QB for putting points on the board too soon.

Stupid is as stupid writes.

I wouldn't call our offense "as dangerous as it gets". NE, NO and GB all are above us in that regard, and a few others could b considered in the same realm. But it is a good offense, and seems to be getting better. Of course TB isn't the best opponent to judge from either, but I don't have a lot of complaints about the offense. If some players can mature and get better with time the offense should be even better next year.

Really? First, all football is situational. I hate that expression. Sometimes, he does make mistakes. Everyone does. But, if you mean, how he plays with the game on the line. Romo has the highest 4th quarter passer rating of all time. The game is usually on the line in the 4th quarter. Ya know, that stat that Eli Manning is getting so much credit for this season. "Eli is clutch because he has the best 4th quarter passer rating in the NFL this year." Well, Romo has the best 4th quarter rating of all-time. Let's dig deeper though. Game on the line: Romo has 13 career 4th quarter comebacks and career 14 game winning drives. Four of those are this season. He also let the team downfield for another 4QC/GWD vs. Arizona and another 4QC vs. the Giants, but two field goals cost him those stats.

I'd say his "situational football" is just fine.:star:

True.

But we could be.

If we can figure out how to execute that one or two plays(that we currently do not execute) per game.... THEN we would be "as dangerous as it gets"

We have seen flashes of it.

Things may just come together at the right time.... NOW!

I could see us matching all 3 teams you mention with 30+ points per game played with each.

More than fine as is every other aspect of his game.

You can slice and dice it anyway you want. 1st Q, 4th Q, road, away, leading, trailing or in months with an R.......

It does not matter. He's an elite QB.

The only thing his game suffers is over analisys.

I completely agree. He's easily the most over-criticized player in the NFL. And it's not even close. If the rest of his team played as well as he does, we'd have won a championship or two. He has his flaws, but with this specific offense around him, there's no other quarterback I'd take. That doesn't mean I don't think Rodgers, Brees, Peyton, or Brady are better, but with this team, I'll take my chances with Romo. Personally, I think he's the 5th best QB in football. Brady, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Romo. I think when Rodgers puts up crazy numbers for a few more seasons he can jump the list. It's still a shock to me that every team, including Dallas, passed Romo up in the draft multiple times.

Yeah, but we've seen flashes of it for years. I don't expect to get to the level on offense that NE, GB and NO are, but the good news is we don't have to be. Our offense is good enough to win as long as the blocking up front does it's job, and with our young O-line that should come together more and more. I think we need to be okay with not being the Saints, Pats or Packers on offense, and focus on the things we really need to focus on - getting better in the O-line (which, again, I think is already happening) and improving on defense.
