where did he go this season? I think a few weeks back, i heard Collinsworth say teams have been doubling Beasley and Witten most of the year, you mean to tell me our staff couldn't find ways to get him free or get him in some man coverages? Pathetic

Cole Beasley's Stats this year

36 rec 314 yards 8.7 avg 4 td's

Let that Marinate awhile.

1. Defenses adjusted

2. The qb regressed

3. Coaches haven’t adjusted to the defensive adjustments

Beasley is somehow likely our best receiver. I don’t have any issues with Cole Beasley. We’re told this by defenses giving him lots of respect on 3rd down. The guy is doubled a lot in the slot

What weapons though? Zeke Elliott is the only great skill impact player on offense

Dez, Williams and witten are awful
that was the point of this thread, last year Beasley was lights out, this year he has been totally shut down, 314 yards through 15 games...how is that even possible.

This inept coaching staff happened to Beasley and Dak has not looked his direction as frequently. Probably not looking his direction as frequently because Beasley is being double teamed more this year. Coaches have not adjusted to this double teaming. Why would they adjust. Garrett believes in executing vs a double team instead of changing Beasley’s pattern to help him make a play. Our coaching is basic with no adjustments.

Good coaches get the good players out of the picture

Bad coaches such as Garrett can’t counter

When teams figure out our tendencies we don’t adjust.

Just keep plugging away.

We threw in some wrinkles last year with our new QB.

Now teams had a year to figure out all of our new tendencies and we are back to getting shut down a lot.

The only way to make it work with JG is to impose our will on the ground and force teams to play man coverage.

If they don't double him, they take away the inside route. The outside route is more difficult and can be jumped by CBs so it's often not a safe option.

The overall receiving corp including the TEs are limited. Each one individually might be better if put in a group of receivers that were not as limited.

Beasley is a niche player that thrives when the defense has to focus on the #1 WR and TE or even the #2 WR but now those players are too easy to cover and defenses can focus on Beasley.

I disagree, Beasley is one of the toughest WR's to cover off the line cause of his quickness, he's not a homerun hitter but he moves the chains...this inept staff should've put him in motion more creating some matchups we could exploit.

Beasley is not a lot different from many slot WRs. They are that for a reason. A few are like Edelman or whatever, but the success is not sustained.

I stand by what I said earlier. We overvalued Beasley. Teams decided ya know what, I am not scared of Witten or Bryant, lemme try to see what covering this kid does.

And it works.

The end thing everyone needs to understand is that this offense is so so limited.

It is so evident after this season, but people will continue to assume otherwise.

We threw in some wrinkles last year with our new QB.

The most disappointing part is that we did not value those wrinkles.

We would rather try to get Prescott to fit our own rigid system.

Everybody is trying to pinpoint our problems to one player or coach. The offensive struggles are a result of ineptitude from all parties.

Beasley had to deal with a lot of double coverage this season after coming off a career year last season.

Thanks Captain Obvious.

It was clear after the first three games he was being defended differently.

It hasn’t been clear to many here because all season they’ve been asking what’s happened to him. It’s been one of the big mysteries to some all season.

The receiving group as a whole has many problems. Any of them might function better with better receivers surrounding them.

Even Dez has enough talent remaining to be a good 5th receiver but he is just not a #1 anymore.
