What's more important RG1 or WR2?

NT, then look at WR.
Yep, Im not a big WR choice guy though.
After a trade down I want 1 tech DT(Grant) in the 1st, then RB in the 2nd(either of the OSU boys left) and then another DT 3 tech .
As in whoever is left after Graham(probably between Turner and Robinson cuz Nolen and Harmon likely to be already gone too.)

If it's an elite potential guard then give me the guard. No disrespect to Hoffman, hes good enough to start in this league, but I think he is a lower end starter. IMO nothing is more important than getting the OL in order for this year. Getting the run game going consistently is a must, and you have a QB that has only completed 1 full season since 2020.

Personally I could see the Cowboys looking at it in this order....

Is Tet there? draft him, hes the only Xs and Os difference maker for the Cowboys offense
Is Tet gone? Look for a trade back that gets you value an reevaluate things with your new pick.
Cant trade back? Go get the highest OL on the board.
I'm usually all in with your indepth/comprehensive team assessments.
This team needs to stop the run.
Like now.
As far as the Tet pick goes he does nothing for me in the separation dept. I'd prefer Burden myself. Heck, Egbuka as the backup plan and choice over Tet as well.
With all that said, and regarding OL, getting Booker at guard comes no where close to shoring up the desperately needed 1tech run stopping failures this team continues to face.
The pick should be Grant after the trade down.
The ultimate marriage of immediate impact, value and team need.
The entire defense changes.
Take a 3 tech in the 3rd and this team can "actually" be on a fast track to playoff contention.

Just my opinion of course.

I'm looking at it more from a perspective of what I think the Cowboys would do more than what I would do. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to go DT round 1, but it sounds like that is the furthest thing from the Cowboys thinking. I'll actually go as far as to say that its a total waste to go get a backer like Kenneth Murray if you wont put quality run defenders in front of him.

Tet isn't my top WR either, but hes the one guy who you can plug and play in the X role right away. Other WRs may be able to come in and have more of a direct impact right away statistically, but the downside is most of these guys are probably eating a lot of those slot snaps that you would like to get to Lamb. Tet can line up in the X on one side of the field, and you can get creative with bunch formations on the other and scheme Lamb the ball more IMO....I think his value at least early on will have more to do with schematics than overall skill/potential which will be appealing to a new underdog HC that probably feels some pressure to show his worth early on.

I'm just trying to guess along with what these guys are thinking.

IMO, that isn't even the question if we are talking at selection #12. Neither position is likely BPA. And when it comes to positional value, you better be talking about a big time G to draft him that high.

You can't pick solely for need with premium picks.

I'm not drafting a RG when Hoffman can start. So WR2 is significantly more important.
another post i am agreeing with you on. is this starting a trend? pop tarts and WR your opinions are beginning to align with mine. on another note why the cowboys cant do better at drafting lineman later in the draft like others is beyond me.

What they are thinking is that the roster is better than it is and this weekend is about adding the complementary skill players that’ll get them back to 12 wins.

Hysterical.

Got you bro. I follow your what you think "they" will do rather than what you would choose.
I just have a hard time with so many opinions here prioritizing WR2 production over what a combo pkg of an impactful 1 and 3 tech DT could do for this team both short and long term.
And I know Mazi was just picked and Odiggy just got paid.
I don't care.
The draft positions of strength this year are at DT and RB.
Stopping the run and running the ball are the 2 most desperate needs.

Can someone call up Jerry and tell him how stupid he and his organization are? Hoffman was good in his 7 starts and actually an upgrade of Martin.

IMO you can plug in a prime Zach Martin next year at RG and it doesn’t move the needle. If they draft a guard at 12 they’ve reached Al Davis status.

This team needs a desperately lacks weapons.
great post, and like they always say, we've used resources already at the position!! We've signed several guards here within the last few weeks/month!!

hey pimp but does anyone realize what would happen if Lamb were to go out, if we lost let's say this rookie or Hoffman, we still have depth. Yes we can say that about a lot of positions on this team, but we're focusing on guard and WR

Well first of all this shouldn't even be a question people need to stop listening to rumors and mock drafts and I've heard this and I've heard that nonsense we keep seeing all over the Internet it is trying to gaslight you people they're trying to be right so they're throwing everything against the wall we've heard 15 names now but guard isn't one of them we need at all..

Not as a first round pick if they needed to address something on either trench and they were looking trenches it has to be tackle like the best left tackle in the draft or the best three tech or nose tackle I prefer nose tackle disputation if they're going to pick defensive line not a pass rush here I think we've got that covered enough that we don't need to pick another high pass rusher....

That's why I believe they're looking wide receiver or defensive tackle and an outside linebacker slash middle linebacker possibly in the first round...

Between those two options obviously we've got to go wide receiver but I wouldn't consider it a number 2 hopefully if you're picking that high in the draft and using a first rounder

ITS WR1B....

There is no Jeremiah Smith this draft. If there was it’s a different conversation.

I don’t know much about Booker. If he’s as big, powerful and dominant as I’ve read he might be my choice in a trade back scenario. I don’t know if there is WR1 in this draft other than maybe Hunter. The others look like mid level WR2. I don’t see top prospects that are 6’2” with great speed and proven production. They all have question marks.

Booker from reports is a top end run blocking guard. Worst case early 2nd rd pick, probably mid-late 1st. We have Bass and Hoffman… two undrafted and mostly unproven players. These two should not stop us from drafting a 1st round guard if Booker justifies that grade and is about BPA at the pick.

I want an elite oline that can get us 2 yards on 3rd and 1. If Booker can road grade in front of a RB I take early in the draft that might be my pick.

Build from the inside out. Run it down their throats with Smith-Beebe-Booker in the middle.
