Did the Cowboys whiz in his Wheaties or what?

Tonight on NFL Access he explained why Grossman will outplay Romo Sunday night. His rationale was that Rex is a streaky passer, Romo hasn't faced a defense like the Bears' and Dalllas doesn't have the outside linebackers to play a 3-4 defense. They only have three sacks as a team and if Grossman doesn't feel pressure, he'll be hitting Berrian and company all night. That's his opinion and I have no problem with that. But the way he acted when Eisen was leading into the discussion was very telling. Eisen said something about Romo playing better than any QB not named Brady and being a Pro Bowler, and Woodson laughed and rolled his eyes. Then Schefter said something about Romo being very good so far this season and Woodson chuckled again and said, "Well, pretty good." It was blatantly obvious he had a huge hardon for Romo or the Cowboys or something. I'd noticed it before, from months back in the preseason when he always had something negative to say about the Cowboys. Dallas wasn't in his preseason top five teams in the NFC and the past two weeks he's explained why NY and Miami will beat the 'Boys. Don't get me wrong. I could care less what he or any other "expert" thinks about my team, but I'm truly curious as to where this chip comes from. It's huge and it's obvious. The only thing that comes to my mind is that he's pissed because the Cowboys deprived him of a ring.

#1. doubt it but we will see. i agree he is a streaky passer though.
#2.true romo has never faced a D as good as the bears.
#3.so far that is true also. subject to change though

The bears defense is good but not all that good. Urlacher and Tommie Harris are the main reason why that team scares me defensively.

The more important thing will be can the Bears overcome Rex Grossmans terrible ability to play qb.

The Bears are good but come on.

The Norv Turner led Chargers beat them, the Bledsoe led Cowboys beat a better Charger team two seasons ago, the Super Bowl Champions fell to Dallas and they pounded Chicago in the big one, everyone knows Dallas missed opportunity after opportunity to put Seattle away in the playoffs, the same Seattle that took the Bears into overtime at Soldier Field a week later.

Chill pill on the Bear defensive greatness, they beat up weak opponents bu when they face solid competition they lose as many as they win.

Homefield is theirs but the night belongs to Dallas.

He also got scorched madly by Alvin Harper in the 1994 season opener, two touchdowns I believe.

Of course he hates us, Aikman, Irvin, and Smith kicked his Wooden butt- son tail

in the Super Bowl.

Also, wasn't there a #21 that was better than him in that game.

I guess "Hardon" must mean something different in Virginia..

Rod Woodson annoys me, and a negative comment about the Cowboys has very little to do with it.

Woodson, to me, is one exhibit of the reason why I don't always like former players giving their insight on the games. Often, they don't have much insight.

And lest people think I'm just against a former Steeler, Emmitt and Keyshawn are just a couple of other guys who don't do anything for me.

It's more than "not buying" Romo. It's easy to tell that he has hate for the Cowboys.

So what? Not being rude but the guy was a steeler and anyone that does not bow at the alter of the cowboys gets ripped on.

Sometimes I find it amusing how we rip on homers who played with other teams but lift up Irvin when he would do the same for the cowboys.

Personally I like someone like Aikman who is objective, but even he gets ripped on because he does not play the role of homer.

One other thing to consider. If he was not worried about Romo he would not put the energy into ripping on him. Sometimes you need to do as Hostile says and embrace the hatred.

Do these people ever study before spouting off at the mouth? He knows nothing about our team, but he does know how it feels to have his heart ripped out by the cowboys in the SB.

How anyone can not like Romo is beyond me. The kid is nice, energetic, busts his butt on the field, never disses anyone in the media, and has a cinderfella type story line.

Didn't he meet this same team last year? (I honestly can't remember). If so, how did he did with the predictable slow the game down offense we had?

To a point, I agree with you Brain, but sometimes some of us are so anti-homer that we almost are rooting against our beloved cowboys. It's good to be objective but we should still root for OUR team. Much love to the STAR. :D

My post had nothing to do with Woodson failing to "bow at the altar." I didn't "rip" anyone. As I said, I have no problem with his opinion. I was just curious as to the root of the obvious, uncontainable hatred of the Cowboys he routinely displays on television. I thought the way he acted when they were discussing Romo was comical. He came off as really immature.

Unlike a lot of people, I could care less what the so-called "experts" think about my team. They don't know any more than I do how games will turn out, and, really, I'd prefer Dallas be thought of as the underdog. What I can't handle is homers on TV, whether it's in the studio or the booth. If you're going to be a professional commentator, be professional for crapsake. Yeah, Woodson's a Steeler. So what? If he can't contain his biases, he should be doing local Steeleer shows instead of national NFL broadcasts. Same with Michael Irvin (he was terrible).

Aikman and Moose are both great. Anyone who whines that they are "anti-homers" doesn't appreciate good, objective journalism.

I agree with the comments many have made in this forum concerning Rod's presumed hatred of the Cowboys due to S.B. XXX. I feel, as many in this forum, that Rod has yet to let that loss clear his memory. Unfortunately, Rod's past experience tends to influence his judgement. I am sure he still feels a pop in his knee when someone mentions the name, Barry Sanders.
