Oh, I don't know....I think L-O-Jete might have a point. :)

The turnover differential was -5 last year. The Cowboys must improve in that category in order to make it to the next level.

Score points, win games....yeah that's the ticket :p:

OK, I'll stop now. The OL is clearly the 'one thing' for this season. All things remaining roughly the same, we will rise and fall on our OL performance. Injuries will come to every team in such a violent sport, so the old saw that it is better to be lucky than good does come in to play here, but our OL lacked depth last year and we were exposed after Flo went down. No team is going to do as well when the starting LT goes down, but our drop off in performance was spectacular.

All of the pundits as the season approaches will point to the Cowboy OL as a question mark and they will be right. We have a bunch of folks who underperformed last year individually and as a unit. To replace them we have a mixture of the same, the old, the young, and the recently injured. No one knows how this unit will shake out and we won't know until the games begin.

no surprise - agreed. the OL has to get better and definately NOT be the reason or cause of failure.

I'll say we have to stay healthy on the O-line and play at or about the same level as the first 5-6 games last year.

What is your 1 key?

no question the OL has to be better than it has been, especially better than last year when it was horrible

we'd have been a playoff team with even an AVERAGE OL last yr...

We have to play to win rather than playing not to lose.

Do you hear me Bill? Stop looking for the 2-point win and look to crush your opponent instead! :bang2:

I agree Bill needs to take the shackles off I just hope the OL allows him to do that.

There are a lot of things that need to go right in order for us to make the playoffs.

1. Keep TO playing and happy.
2. Keep Bledose off his butt with solid O-line play.
3. Julius Jones needs to keep his butt off the injury report.
4. Marcus Coleman needs to step up and fill the FS position out.
5. Our offense needs to be less predictable, and more in an attack mode, instead of a wait and see what the other team does approach.
6. Can't lose any of the following to injury:
Roy Williams
Terry Glenn
TO
Flo
Bledsoe
Ware
Spears
Ellis
Canty
Ayodele
Henry
Newman
Rivera
Al Johnson
Kosier(Just Kidding)
Fabini
Carpenter
James
Coleman
Witten
Fasano
Julius Jones(wishful thinking, I know)
Vaderjagt
McBriar

I think we have enough depth to make it through a few games without a few of those players above, but a season ending injury would kill us on hte O-line, WR, or QB.

good, not adequate - but good, protection for bledsoe.

as goes bledsoe... so goes Dallas.

well unfortunately, that's not gonna happen, BIll is set in his ways, but the good news, we have a decent K for a change and our D looks to be improved, just that Oline is keeping us from running Parcells' style of offense effectively, but once it's ran like Bill intends it, it's a thing of beauty, ah, smashmouth, in your face, cram it down your throat, offense

I could choose:

TO grasping the system to make a TO impact...
A DT stepping up to take the slack from Fergy.....
A legit FS......
Some other DE providing the pass rush alongside Ellis.....
Improved play from the LB positions.....
Criticle play fromthe TEs particularly with 2 TE sets....

but I think, unquestionably the 1 KEY issue which will decide the playoff destination is the OL play. This still has so many questions! Where do we start? There isn't a single guarantee at any position (except Flozell, recovery pending)!

Still, in BillI trust and we know the importance he places on the trenches. He must feel comfortable!

I'm torn. I want to keep Bledsoe healthy, but, as some people mention his track record, it seems that his track record says that should he go down we WILL win a Super Bown.:p:

I think the OL improving is something you always want. Not being healthy though was a big part why the OL was so bad last year. If they play like they did before Flo went down, we'll be ok.
