Is he leaving, is he is staying? I have heard nothing about him.

I haven't heard anything on him this offseason, but I don't think he will be back with us.

Signing Brooking means he isn't coming back. But is there a team interested in signing him? (I hope so) Same with guys like Tank.

Zach said he didnt fit well in the 34 defense and wanted to either go to a 43 team or retire.

My guess is he is retirng.

He knew that before he came here.

Is he an UFA? If he signs with someone else that would help with our comp picks. Not sure about his contract though.

As i remember his contract had a clause that after one year he could leave. So i think he is virtually a FA now.

There ya go: http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/news.cfm?id=81A02A11-BE67-867E-BE228634FB9B654E

After 12 years with the Miami Dolphins, Thomas signed a four-year contract with the Cowboys on Feb. 28, though the final three years were voided because he reached playing time incentives. He started 13 games at the team's Will position, the weak inside linebacker. It was a homecoming for Thomas, a native of Pampa, Texas, but not one that worked out exactly as he had hoped.

Sadly, I think Zach Thomas is done as an NFL player. I haven't heard any team that has shown interest. I don't see any team that would sign him as a starter and I don't see anyone signing a 36 year old backup. Nor do I see Thomas signing as a backup.
It's too bad his career ended this way cause he was a great border line HOF football player. Maybe he'll go on Dancing with the Stars so if he wins he can have bragging rights over Jason Taylor during Thanksgiving Dinner.

I have a feeling Zack will show up some where it may be as late of training camp but some where some team is going to sign him.

I believe Taylor and Thomas' sister got divorced.

Thomas isn't finished, if he wants to play. He wasn't an all-star last year by any means, but there are more than a few teams with worse ILBs and MLBs than Thomas. He'll catch on with somebody who develops a sudden need for a vet LBer by this Summer, if he still wants to.

I'm pretty sure you are right. I think he cheated on her.

"Zach said he didnt fit well in the 34 defense and wanted to either go to a 43 team or retire."I don't believe Zach said that. He played in the 3-4 defense in Miami. What he did say is he played out of position, with that position being taken up by Bradie James. He said he wasn't going to unseat Zach, given the way Bradie was playing. It is too bad we didn't get to see Zack playing the position of Bradie. He may not have garnered the sacks, but he wouldn't be exposed in pass coverage and he is smarter. Plus, I think Bradie's sacks are a reflection of the scheme of Wade, and Wade would have no problems creating match-ups which allow Zach to get in the back-field without having to take on guys twice his size.

I am pretty certain Thomas won't be back here and the fact that he doesn't seem to have had a whole lot of options outside of here tells me the guy might be forced to lean toward retiring.

Of course we all know that can, and will, change come camp time when people lose guys with injuries and need guys to fill in.
