I'm not a season ticket holder, so I've only been to about a dozen or so Cowboys games in my life... but the ones I've been lucky enough to go to have been some real classics... capped off by last Monday's game in Buffalo.

What's the most thrilling game you've ever seen the Cowboys play?

Here's my list of the most amazing Cowboys finishes I've witnessed in person:

Game #1:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/sports/Commanders/longterm/1997/history/allart/dw1997b.htm

Cowboys vs. Commanders 11/16/1997

I remember sitting in the “cheap” seats in the upper deck endzone. But those turned out to be the best seats in the house as all of the 4th quarter action ended up happening on that end of the field.

Cowboys trailed 14-6 late in the fourth quarter. Aikman orchestrates a 97 yard drive, culminating with a TD strike to Irvin with less than 2 minutes left… a 2 point conversion to Emmitt ties the game. Then, backed up deep in “my” endzone, with all my fellow fans screaming, we force a 3-and-out by the Skins and intimidate Matt Turk into a 28 yard punt. Troy then drove the Cowboys into field goal range, and Richie Cunningham hit the game winning 42 yarder with 4 seconds left!

Game #2:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=221013006

Cowboys vs. Panthers 10/13/2002

After laying a complete egg for over three and a half quarters of play, Quincy and the Cowboys trailed the Panthers 13-0.

Then, with less than four minutes left, Q-Ball hit Joey Galloway for an 80 yard bomb on a ball that was tipped by the defensive back before Galloway secured it and scampered down the field. Then, on the eventual game-winning drive, a Quincy fumble was reversed on a “tuck rule” call before Quincy eventually hit Antonio Bryant on a miraculous 4th down touchdown catch with less than a minute left.

Chris Weinke and the Panthers almost drove within field goal range before running out of time in this amazing finish.

Game #3:

http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/recap?game_id=28537&displayPage=tab_recap&season=2005&week=REG1

Cowboys at Chargers 9/11/2005

Until last Monday’s game, I had thought this was the most thrilling finish I’d ever witnessed.

Opening game of the 2005 season, on the road in San Diego. With three minutes left, Drew Bledsoe hits Keyshawn on third down to take a 28-24 lead.

It wasn’t close to being over then, though, as Drew Brees led the Chargers down the field for a potential game-winning drive. On 4th-and-14, we thought we had the game won, but Brees hit Eric Parker for 33 yards down to the 7 yard line with less than a minute left. In the most tense and exciting four downs I’ve ever witnessed, the Dallas defense kept San Diego out of the endzone as Aaron Glenn came up with a deflection and pick on 4th down to seal the Dallas win!

Game #4:

Cowboys at Bills 10/8/2007

I now have witnessed an official miracle.

Dishonorable Mention:

Cowboys at Commanders 11/6/2006

With the game tied with just seconds remaining, the Commanders miss a game-winning field goal. Romo then hits Jason Witten putting us into field goal range with just ticks left on the clock. Vanderjagt lines up for the game-winner. Worst case scenario is a miss and overtime, right? Wrong! One block, one Sean Taylor run back, and one face mask later, the Commanders line up for the third game-winning field goal attempt in 30 seconds! The kick is good and the rest of my day is ruined.

Maybe this is more suited for the History Zone, but after last Monday's game, I realized how lucky I've been to see some of the greatest Cowboys finishes in person, and thought I'd share it. :)

Lakers winning in San Antonio, with 0.4 seconds to get the ball to Fisher and let him score.

The George Mason-UConn elite 8 game. That was amazing. I still can't believe that George Mason held on.

I saw the Cowboys/Panthers game in person (the one where QC hit AB for the game winner).

I saw the Cowboys/Chiefs game a couple of seasons ago. That was exciting.

The Panthers game was more exciting though. Plus there were a lot of Panther fans acting like their team was the one that had won 5 superbowls. I was talking all kinds of crap to those losers after we won that game. That was fun.

The chiefs had a lot of fans too, but they weren't a bunch of aholes. We had fun with those guys going at it back and forth.

What a great thread. I only have a couple, and none (alas) are Cowboys related.

The 2003 Fiesta Bowl between Miami and Ohio State that went to double overtime. That's the game that broke my heart though because I really wanted Dallas to draft Willis McGahee. You could hear that injury all over the stadium.

I wish I could say I went to the 2007 Fiesta Bowl between Boise State and Oklahoma, but I didn't. That is the best game I've ever watched.

The opening game of 2006 for the Arizona Wildcats I watched our new Kicker, Nick Folk, kick the game winner with 3 seconds left from 48 yards. It would have been good from 60+. That was pretty exciting.

Perhaps the best one I ever saw though was in basketball. My Lakers against the Utah Jazz. Would have been in 1987 or 1988, I don't remember right now. Mychal Thompson of the Lakers hit a 60 footer at the buzzer. I had been taking all kinds of crap from my friends I went to the game with who were all Jazz fans. I didn't say a word. Just thrust my arms into the air. Man they got quiet. Sweet revenge after I took a lot of crap all game long.

I have been to two Cowboys games in Irving.

First one they lost to the Giants.

Next year they beat the Giants in OT... the game where Ware caused Jacobs to fumble at the goal line.....

The Hero of the game: Jose Cortez

There I was... going nuts in the stands because we were driving to get within FG distance.... Cortez puts it up.... its good.

Believe it or not... the Stadium was rocking for that game.

You're a Lakers fan?

We're not friends anymore.

No one's mentioned the most incredible finish in sports history: the ending to the 1994 Class 5A Division II Region II Semifinal Plano East-John Tyler football game. The location will seem familiar...

I won't say anything else as I don't know if we'll ever see anything like it again, but just watch:

I was when they were the Showtime Lakers. Man that was fun basketball. I loved their games against the Nuggets with Fat Lever, Kiki Vandeweighe, and Alex English (prettiest jump shot ever). The final scores would be like 130 to 128. It was pure fun.

I don't particularly like Kobe and I've cooled on the NBA a lot in the last 5 years. I much prefer NCAA basketball.

Baylor Bears were a 35 point underdog to #16 Texas A&M in 2004, Baylor forces overtime after matching the Aggies score for score.

In OT A&M scores a touchdown that is promptly answered back by Baylor who then calls timeout and decides to go for two.

Baylor then runs the exact same play they scored on 30 seconds earlier, a slant, and defeats Texas A&M and knocks them out of Conference contention as well as the AP rankings.

The Corp is silent and near tears, Baylor students rush the field.

Dec. 16th 2004
MNF Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks

Final score Dallas 43 Seattle 39

Dallas trails 39-29 with 3 minutes remaining. Testeverde throws a 34 yard TD to Keyshawn. Jason Witten recovers onside kick and Julius Jones goes nuts on the final drive to seal the win. Julius goes for 198 yards this night. The look on Seahawks fans' faces is very similar to what we witnessed this past Monday night in Buffalo.

This was an awesome first life NFL game for me...

Edit: just watched the video recap on NFL.com. I had forgotten that the Cowboys were actually leading and then gave up three scores to go down 10. Now I remember why the Seahawks fans were taunting me and then cursing me at the end.

For me the 72 playoffs vs SF. Morton started the game and was having a bad game with Dallas trailing Roger came in and helped lead Dallas to a 30-28 win. With a little over a min left Roger contected for 2 TD passes. What made it special is the people I was around where having a lot of fun giving me a hard time about Dallas losing the game when the unexpected happen. After that game was over I took on the additude that no game is over if you keep fighting

Cant believe Wash 1999 week 3 hasnt been mentioned.

Three 4Q TD's to send it to OT and then Rocket's 70 yard TD to win it in OT.
