What's the problem with Cam Skattebo?

I only seen him play one game and that was against the Longhorns. Judging by that one game he looks like a first round pick. He almost single handedly won the game for Arizona St.

5’9” 218 and he runs slower than fullbacks who are 6’2” 245 doesn’t really translate to the NFL!

He is a rotational back in the NFL IMO.
His style will probably make him a player that does not last long in the league if he was the full time starter.
Also seems to be stories that he is a bit of a head case and players like him on the field but not so much in the locker room.

He is a good backup, but his game wont translate as an NFL starter. Not enough speed or burst. That and his running style will have him wear down overnthe course of the season in the NFL if he has a starter workload. You'd have a good back in September, and an ineffective one in December. In the NFL he would be best used as a weapon against tired defenses

I think he is a good athlete, I just don't think has more then a 3rd gear. His vertical and standing broad jump were good and he has power. His style of running into everyone just doesn't translate into a career longer then 3 or 4 years.

Skattebo was never going to be an elite RB prospect in the draft. He had a great season that put him on the map and it will get him drafted somewhere in the mid-to-late rounds, which is way better than where he was a year ago. It's just too deep of a RB class and there are better, more well-rounded prospects. Skattebo would still be a good pick for a team on Day 3 looking for some RB depth on the roster. He's a good receiver out of the backfield and I could see him being a really useful backup RB

I saw Skatebo play three times this year and people who are judging him by his speed (or lack of it) don’t understand his game. He’s a football player. Plain and simple.

I see this kid as an effective situational player. He will obviously be great in short yardage situations but he’s also an underrated receiver.

He’s not an every down back but on the right team with the right understanding of what he can do, he will be effective. Is he an every down back? No. Can he be part of an effective committee? Yes.

Mike Allstott 2.0, smaller but better college career. I would take him in round 3.

he reminds me a bit of Barber. big, brusing back who cherishes contact and gets better as game goes on and defense wears out. now, put him and the kid from Vtech...now you got a true thunder and lighting combination....

I don't matter how fast you run if you are averaging 3.5 yards per carry.

Running for 1,700 yards with out legit speed is impressive.

Short yardage and goal line problems would be solved.

I'm just stating the reason Skattebo isn't at the top of team's RB list. If you can find a different reason, please share.
