I just got a great deal on a refurb. acer laptop at MicroCenter in Richardson.......$300.
1.6ghz AMD Athlon 64 processor
3gb of RAM
Windows 7 on a 64bit OS
160gb hardrive

They've got a great selection of laptops at great prices.

Oh, I almost forgot....this one's got bluetooth capabilities too. :D

Most computer wireless devices do not use bluetooth however there are several such as keyboards and mice that do. Yeager is right in that you can transfer files such as photos, videos, etc. back and forth between your computer and phone as long as your phone allows it.

Which laptop are you looking at, WG?

I'm looking at a HP in the 599-699 range. I've got a work laptop that's steroid level, but I need to transition my personal stuff to another laptop.

The standard models in that price range have:

17in screen
2ghz processor
2 GB ram
320 gb
Wireless

Some other stuff, but I'm typing from my phone

Data transfer. Connect a microphone, mouse, or a controller to your machine.

I wouldn't let bluetooth be the deal breaker here. Most of the wireless devices that use bluetooth are inferior to the ones that use 2.4Ghz (they will come with a dongle for this) in terms of response time and battery life.

Plus if you want to add bluetooth later, you can buy a 15 dollar dongle like this one and add it.

The only time I've found bluetooth particularly useful on a laptop is when you are using your cell phone as a modem while on the go, but you usually have to pay your cell provider extra for the privilege.

EDIT: I see you already got it, not a bad deal. Hope you enjoy it. :)

The nice thing about built in bluetooth you do not have to add a dongle and the HP's come with the a button to turn it on and off as you need it so not to drain battery life
