No clear-cut, best pass rusher

As witnessed with the various All-Pro teams, from the NFLPA to PFF, the AP to Next Gen Stats, opinion is split amongst who the best edge rusher was this year. No one player stood out above the others amongst the three players considered to be the best at the position.
Pittsburgh’s TJ Watt led the league in sacks, with 19 across 17 games, clear of two players tied for second with 17.5. No one is seriously considering Trey Hendrickson or Josh Allen for the award. The other two top edges, Cleveland’s Myles Garrett and Dallas’ own Micah Parsons are the other contenders.
Watt also had the best run stop numbers among the group, but of the top edges, Watt was routinely last or next to last in every advanced stat pass-rushing metric.
Parsons led the league in pressures and saw himself double-teamed far more than any other NFL player, on his way to a career-high 14 sacks. He absolutely dominated the majority of advanced metrics for edge rushers.

5 weeks? Man, I didn’t realize it was that long. Honestly, if DQ calls with an exceptional trade package I’m listening.

I think CeeDee Lamb is a more important piece to this team than Parsons, and that contract is gonna be a monster.
Don't believe everything you read on this forum- Parsons had 2.5 sacks over the last 5 weeks of the season.

should be 1st to you though right
I don’t know, I didn’t watch enough of the guys on the 1st team at pass rusher to know. But being on this list, either first or second team, is an honor.

I do know that I’m glad Micah is on the Cowboys. I also know the voters are never really going to take into account how much a player is double or triple teamed… no matter how much that opens things up for his teammates.

you are nuts... we finally have one of the best opass rushes in the entire league and you are ready to trade that away for picks???? jesus man.
I guess we just could get some bottom of the heap pass rushers, I mean after all, we could get them for the league minimum Im sure.

Imagine Micah on a Super Bowl Media Day and week.......I'd love it, but it would scare me at the same time.
this is my only gripe about the guy.... he talks too much.... and I talk a lot.

Edge is a position with lots of super talented guys. Can't ever fault watt bosa Garrett and Parsons for being selected in any order. Micah has made 2 first team all pros in his first two years and second team this year. He's doing great but if he views it as a snub I hope he blows up the playoffs like Jefferson in fast times at ridgemont high.
To add to this Parsons rookie year they classified him as linebacker instead of edge (so it was much easier to get selected) and then his 2nd year Watt was injured.

I guess its reasonable to say snubbed but even the stats all do not agree on that.

Myles Garret gets a lot of ink; and that always counts. Same with TJ Watt
there was a lot of talent in competition with Micah and I really cannot squawk too loud about this 'snub'
He needs to have a monster game in a big playoff game I think to get him over the hump

On not being labeled "1st team?" I mean in all honesty, none of it means anything it's just an honor. The same way he gets snubbed, is the same way he can make all of those voters etc look stupid by having a MONSTER playoff run!!! Please give your thoughts

It's probably because no one likes him because he's too popular.

the voting is done by nfl players, so it is up to them as to who gets what.
evidently his peers didnt think he was that good this season.

No matter how many flag are passed out for 'tackles' if they take away the sport and the real game of football where observation is still king in a game...I'll just go to baseball where it can't be faked hitting the ball off a pitcher.
