what's the Texas like these days?

I'm originally form Grand prairie TX but i haven't been back there since the 90s. I not really happy in Norway anymore and i'm thinking of moving back but i don't know much about the area any more.

I'm thinking mostly about housing prices, what's the job marked like? and what if any are the options as far as nightly college classes and that kind of stuff goes?

Economy here is actually not bad. Housing is ranked pretty high as well. I live over by Texas Motor Speedway and paid $170,000 for a 3460 sq ft 5 bedroom. Depending on location, you can get the same size home from $140,000 - $350,000 (or more if you can afford the location).

DFW is still growing. North Dallas will soon be connected to Denton via rail, so that helps with commuting, and Fort Worth is in the process of improving commuter rail service, too. Traffic, as always, is still a monster.

Oh, and it's freeking hot.

Those housing prices are not half bad was expecting much worse numbers, I guess living in one of the most expensive countries on the world i have a different perspective which really does makes it even more tempting to move. I don't have a drivers license though which is pretty much a must there from what i hear. Having a car in the city here is more of a burden then anything else so i never bothered with it

One of my new acquaintances just moved their family from England to the US last year. For what they were paying for a flat over there they bought a $235,000 400sq ft home here in Fort Worth. His wife, in talking about their new home, said "Everyday I walk around the house at least once in wonder and awe that in America you can purchase such a home for such a low price. I rue the day that is no longer true.

Naw, my brother lives north of San Diego. He bought a duplex, a DUPLEX, for $195,000 in a gated community and tried to tell me what a good deal he got.
