What's the vibe right now in Cowboys land? How are you feeling?

The feeling is this is a very average team that will be on the outside looking in come playoff time. They have done nothing to make this team better so far and it doesn’t look like they plan to through free agency or significant trade. So that leaves the draft. They better hit on most of their picks and have multiple pro bowl rookies if they are going to have a snowballs chance in hell of the playoffs.

One could argue that the Super Bowl is won in the off-season and last year the Cowboys took two steps back from the season previous. And this year they’re doing the exact same thing. One position where we have lost a player or needed a player where it was filled With something that would improve the status of this team. You can’t name any. Not yet anyhow. So it’s basically déjà vu. The team will continue to slowly erode. Predicting a 6 to 7 win season.

The Cowboys are finally making moves in the offseason. It’s just the moves we’d thought they’d make. Signing a bunch of never was, no names, cheap contracts, all to barely make it to a winning season. Man, what a washed up franchise.

What i don’t get is if Cowboys are not loading up to make a run and want to do it via the draft then why resign Dak? what was the point of that ?

How are you feeling right now as a Cowboys fan, worried, confused, happy, excited, hopeful, neutral, not bothered, accepting??????

What is your temperature right now with this team? I want everyone to open up and discuss their feelings, NOBODY is wrong in how they feel, so please don't try and tell others how to feel!! Please give your thoughts
THIS IS THE REASON I CHECKED OUT AT THE END OF LAST SEASON. JERRY AND STEPHEN SUCK, THE TEAM SUCKS, THE FREE AGENCY SIGNINGS SUCK. WHAT'T TO LIKE ABOUT THIS? WE LOSE DLAW AND JLEWIS AND SIGN THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE BARREL. NO IMPROVEMENTS AT ALL. HEADED FOR ANOTHER LESS THAN MEDIOCRE SEASON.

JUST A WASTE OF TIME. I DON'T FORESEE ME SPENDING SUNDAYS WATCHING THIS DUMPSTER FIRE OF A TEAM.

DAK IS A JOKE. HE HAS TAKEN THIS FRANCHISE TO THE CLEANERS. HE WILL NEVER HAVE A WINNING SEASON AGAIN. HE IS TOTALLY WASHED UP. EVEN THOUGH HE NEVER VERY GOOD. HE SHOULD BE THANKING HIS LUCKY STARS THAT HE GOT DRAFTED BY ACCIDENT BY JETHRO JONES. HE FELL INTO A BIG PILE OF MONEY FOR NO GOOD REASON. I DON'T BLAME DAK, HE MADE OUT LIKE A BANDIT. GOOD FOR HIM, BAD FOR THE TEAM.

SAME AS LAST SEASON----- AWFUL

Embarrassed, forgotten, scammed, jilted, trying to find the right word..... it's like where you want to buy a billboard and post a GET OUT OF DODGE BOOGER message.

Like that Linda Ronstadt song....

You're no good
You're no good
You're no good
Booger, you're no gooooood!

Blasting in his office window 24/7!

Even fourth grade special ed deaf, dumb, blind kids could come up with a better off-season plan. Kids be like "Do something! If it's wrong why you care? Ain't nobody can fire yo dumb mummified french fry looking outfit self!"

What's the vibe? Good question! Stephen and Jerry don't sign high priced veterans anymore, well because they usually suck after we sign them. Usually, we wait until mid April it seems to sign bottom of the barrel guys that usually are JAGs.

So this year, it seems it changed a little but still doesn't make a lot of sense. We, as always, sign a few of our free agents but then we have signed four guys that actually may have a chance to be good. One thing we have been mostly good about doing is signing guys that were either UDFA guys that became starters or 1st round bust who we turn around and they actually help us but as usual gone the next year because they exceeded expectations by a lot.

We have done a decent job in keeping guys we needed to keep in Turpin WR, Anger P, Seig LS, Bell S, Thomas S, Wheat DE (depth), Hoffman OG, and resigned Odighizuwa DT (3tech).

And Jones at RG is serviceable until we see how the draft goes. Turner DE and Thomas DT both needed a new start with a system that fits them better and apparently our new coaching staff sees them as a fit. Murray ILB and Sanborn ILB will be the replacements for Kendricks and do have hopes they will be better. After losing Lewis CB, we needed a decent CB and Elam CB was the guy they have high hopes to match his abilities. Murray is the highest $$ guy at $6 mil for this year but none of it is guaranteed. Williams RB should be better than Dowdle. None of the trades cost us much in picks.

And best of all for Stephen, the contracts of the guys we lost is for greater when figuring out extra picks for next year so right now probably in line for 3 picks.

Are we better? Yet to be seen but we are in much better shape than last year at this time. I know people are worried about signing Parsons but remember his $24 mil contract on the 5th year option is already on the books, so when they do sign him, he actually will end up with a lesser cap hit this year even if they sign him to a $40 mil a year contract.

We have filled holes at starters and depth except for the WR spot and backup QB spot but that should happen this week and considering that we still have some $40 mil plus of cap space, we should easily find a good WR and maybe resign Rush at QB again. I wouldn't be surprised at signing Jameis Winston QB and Mike Williams WR or Elijab Moore WR or maybe a trade for a WR but doubt it would be much given up in trade. And somehow it wouldn't surprise me to see us sign Tyron Smith OT as a backup to help develop Tyler Guyton.

This should help in the draft with taking the best guy available when we pick or allowing us to trade down for additional second day picks. Say Tyler Warren at TE is available at #12, betting Charger would give up #22, #55, and #124 to get him. Good chance we could get Hampton RB at #22 and Jackson DE at #44 and Higgins WR at #55.

Will we be better in 2025? Getting a good RB, a strong #2 WR, another DE and DT along with a CB have to be taken in the draft and hit as rookies, then yes we will be at least 5 games or more better.

Sanborn and Murray look decent. WE now have 3 LBs

Tank is gone which is fine.

The other four pickups are meh at best

I mean in terms of actual activity I can't complain. They brought in 7 players so far, though none really move the needle beyond depth or stopgap starter status. But they also kept Osa, Turpin, Bell, etc..

We would have all loved an impact, "splash" signing but we all know the Cowboys never do that anymore.

Last year they didn't even try to improve. So I feel a LITTLE better right now, albeit not much better.

I feel great because 0-17 is still in play until we win the first game. We’ll win 3-6 games this year and it will be a great season in the continuation of tearing down a broken franchise. We’ve got to bottom out before change is made. Last year started the light at the end of the tunnel. That first round QB is getting close…2-3 years. I just hope the idiots are in a win-win situation where the choice is a no brainer. If not, they’ll take a QB like the guys who are rated 1st round picks this year. There are NO first round QBs in this draft.
