What's the Vision for the Cowboys in 2025?

P. 3 of this thread, first paragraph: “The vision for any Cowboys team under Jerry is always a mixture of football and marketing starting with collecting stars that you can sell and stay relevant and interesting for ratings. That’s not a healthy way to build a championship roster because it’s more like fantasy football than real football.”
Yep, I missed that because I was just quick scanning the responses... I should have known you would be the one to post it first

That math does not add up.
Nice catch....

Marino was not 77-34 between 30 and 39 yards. He was 67-44. As stated before, he was 31-29 at 40 or more attempts.

This adds up to the 98-73 record for 30 or more attempts, a total of 171 games for Marino..

In my opinion, the true cutoff for pass attempts should be 32.

The Cowboys have averaged 65 offensive plays a game over the past three seasons combined. Therefore, "perfect" balance would be 32 attempts per game.

That is definitely Dak's sweet spot and, I suspect, most NFL quarterbacks.

Again, Dak is 47-11 with 32 or less attempts. He is 29-34 with 33 or more attempts.

Looks like somebody else may be making decisions ,could Jerry be backing off and letting Will McClay run the show.Everything looks way better than normal except the Parsons contract dragging out ,that is a Jerry specialty.
My hope is that, after 30 years of on-the-job training, Stephen is actually starting to figure some things out. One of those things is convincing Jerry to give McClay and Schottenheimer more authority in football related decisions.

Post #61 and not even a single post in this thread has come close to Jerry's true vision.

Come on, peeps, Jerry has said this many times over the years and it doesn't change from year to year - the goal (vision) is to be 'relevant' and 'interesting'.

Maintain those standards and the team stays in the news, and Jerry is happy. That's all he desires.
You forgot his primary vision:

Claim as much credit as possible in the event that the Cowboys actually win a Super Bowl, thus demanding recognition as a true "football expert".

This is what he desires more than anything else. He said himself, there is nothing he wouldn't pay for a championship.

I call it the honeymoon phase. Jerry will be back to himself after the season ends

LOL, naw, he'll be back as soon as they start looking like a contender. He'll just squeeze himself between Schotty and the microphone to explain how he was able to accomplish this turnaround.

Marino was 98-73 when throwing 30 or more passes.
That's nice and everything, and proves my point. You can win and throw that many passes.

Should we? Oh hades no. To win throwing that much, you have to have an all time great QB.
