What's the word on T.Y. Hilton?

Is this guy signed for this year or is he still available as a free agent?

I think he’s a must resign he’s a gamer and he’s a team player and he would have no problem filling in as the fourth wide receiver on this team.

He was great last year. I know we got Cooks, but this guy is a must have.

He’s available and could be signed. He doesn’t move the needle but there’s a place in the WR room for a guy like him. He’s lost his athleticism but could be “a guy”.

I think the reason he sat out until after thanksgiving in 2022 was he wanted to see his kids sports seasons through. My guess is he would do the same in 2023, but that’s just a guess.
That's a very likely guess, as his kids will still be playing high school sports this fall.

Must resign??? He offers nothing as a sp teams player and nothing as a blocking receiver in the run game. At this point he’s someone you bring in mid season as a desperation move after 2 or 3 of your top players at the position have season ending injuries…. Nothing more and nothing resembling anything close to a must resign!

I’m not sure Hilton is committed to playing an entire year. He sat out most of last year to spend time with his family and waited until the end of the year to sign with us. Also, when you are the 4th or 5th WR on the team they usually expect you to play special teams.

I’d be getting in his ear lining him up to come back around Thanksgiving on a pro-rata deal.
Why would we want to do that as opposed to having him all season working on timing and learning the new system

He decided not to play last year until it got closer to the end of the year. Perhaps he takes a similar approach again this year. He struggled with injuries, so one way to stay fresh and play in the most meaningful games.

Great 4th receiver.
Could he be happy with that role?
Willing to be paid like that?

Because we are paying both Cooks and Gallup and don't really need a starting receiver at this stage. There's only so much money you can put into the receiver position. If however we are looking at a playoff run, and need a bit of a kick heading into the playoffs, he could give us that edge we need to be a contender.

No! He’s been in a steady precipitous decline since 2018. Even if he wasn’t there’s just so much draft and cap capital you allocate to one position. At best he would the 5th receiver. Barring injury his main contribution would be special teams, something I doubt he would want to do nor be suited for at his age!

I am an Ohio State fan and I follow all players from that school. I like Noah Brown, is he better than Hilton? If not, Dallas held on to him for years with minimal production.

Why was I thinking he signed for 2 years? Guess I'm thinking of someone else.
