Are the players just not taking stretching seriously? Coaching fault? What in the world is going on with all the hamstrings? Anybody have an idea?

I have no idea but we sure are getting humstrung by these injuries....

Thank you..thank you I'll be here all night ladies and gentlemen.

Not trying to point fingers, but I'd look at Mike Woicik.

you mean our miracle worker, the man who was going to wave a magic wand and turn JAGS into Pro Bowl players?

The man who was going to ensure we had by far the best conditioned team in the NFL?

You don't mean him do you?

This will certainly give the competition a leg up on us.

Hamstring pulls can be largely prevented by observing 1) proper, balanced muscle development, 2) proper warm-up and stretch before action, and 3) proper hydration with electrolytes before/during action. These are the responsibilities of the player, the head coach, and the training staff.

A lot of this is precaution to prevent injury. Any kind of soreness and they are shutting those guys down so they don't have a continued problem like Austin had last year.

It's a league wide enigma. You have to believe that these guys are doing everything it takes not have hamstring issues.

Everybody takes stretching seriously. Every team takes it seriously.

With WR's it happens all of the time. It's part of the modern game as receivers get more muscle but they really can't handle that muscle and you get hamstrings. Part of the reason why baseball is somewhat unwatchable these days for me, a guy doesn't dare to stretch a single into a double because if they run too hard, they'll pull a hammy.

With WR's, they do the most running of anybody on the field. They have to go in motion, run long routes, etc. They can pull a hammy from being out of shape, but they can stretch and do everything right and often pull a hammy.

Livings is more troublesome. Me thinks he wasn't in great shape since running is limited for O-Linement. Not so worried about Dez as it happens. With Miles, only worried because it seems to be a problem he has trouble shaking.

Apparently someone here doesn't watch the Texas Rangers. Especially Elvis Andrus.

Does he have a history of having a lot of players with muscle injuries? I can't imagine he'd have such a strong reputation if he did. It's easy to look at the strength/conditioning coach, as well as the athletic training/medical staff, but some of these guys have histories of recurrent strains.

It could also do with things they're doing away from the team. Yes, a lot of them spend time with the team doing their offseason workout programs, but then they do things outside of that as well, with different trainers, nutritionists, chiropractors, massage therapists, etc. Sometimes, they're either not being taught very well, or they're doing too much (or not enough).

Finally, it's football. Players get hurt. Some years more than others. And it does seem like we're being very cautious with some guys. Possibly to give others more reps, and try to develop some depth.

Im sure somone will find a way to Blame Tony Romo for this too.

You have to wonder if the cooler weather in Oxnard has played a part the mornings can be pretty chilly. Maybe the hotter weather is better.

This :signmast:

#2 is probably the culprit. Without water in the muscle cells there will be no elasticity to the muscle. Replenish the salt also which allows the fluids to penetrate the cell walls.
