In the past couple of days I saw a thread that said we should trade Leonard Davis for Logan Mankins, and another that said we should start Montrae friggin Holland over Davis.

Did he play that awful last year? I don't remember him playing that crappy.

Please explain the Bigg hate.

Offseason. Ken Hamlin was cut, so there was nobody else to pick on since they wore out Roy Williams all last year.

he has above average talent but plays average. He is not good in space. He is overweight. He is average in pass protection. Now having said all of that, I would not single him out if he was not paid to be GREAT. But he IS paid to be great and his play is average. I don't know if the organization thought they were getting the 2nd coming of Larry Allen, but I think they expected more than this. Larry Allen intimidated defenses. I think I recall Deion Sanders on several occasions say Larry Allen was the best play in the ENTIRE NFL. Again, not trying to put that kind of pressure on BIGG, but he he has to give us a physical presence. He has to take it personal when RBs are getting stuffed in the backfield or Romo is getting pounded in the turf. Guys should dread playing against him, and I just don't think that is the case.

It's the same thing that happens every year. Some people always fall in love with a backup and won't believe the starter is better.

He is an average player making an exorbitant salary at a non-premium position. He also played a big role in our poor performance in goal-line and short yardage situations last year.

I agree with most of what you said except IMO he is a above average to great player who had a bad year.

He was in 2007 and some of the time in 2008. However, he definitely was feast or famine in 2009. He is dominant some of the time but also whiffs too often. OL is a position which demands consistency more than dominance.

I would say part of the consistency problem last year was Columbo getting hurt. Free is a completely different type of player than Columbo.
