What's with the Green Bay overhype?

Keep hearing on podcasts and national shows about how Dallas should be worried about Green Bay.

The same team that gave up 30 to Carolina, which scored 0 points their final two games? The same team that lost to Tampa by 14 at home and to the Giants the week before? Those all came after those “monster” wins over Detroit and KC.

This team (Dallas) can’t overlook anybody, but I’m not getting the “scary” vibes from the Packers.

This happens to every team the Cowboys play. The Cowboys are a polarizing franchise and certain people want to see them lose or hype up an opponent out of some fear including some of this forum. Every playoff opponent should be taken seriously obviously but the over the top praise for certain teams is always eye rolling.

They would have lost to KC if the refs called DPI when he should have. Them beating Detroit was impressive. Outside of that their resume isn’t too impressive. They have a good young QB and good running game but I don’t think they can stop our offense. Not if we play fairly good.

I respect Green Bay but I’m not worried. I think the media and podcasters want to get things stirred up for clicks and ratings. I would much rather play Green Bay first than Hurts or Stafford.

Have no fear as this is the 8-9 Bucs all over again.
Cowboys 37
GB 17

The defense has at least 3 T/O and our offense looks spectacular!!! Woof

I think they are talking about the other Green Bay Packers, the ones that beat the Lions and Chiefs in back to back weeks.

As a fan I am always concerned. There is always some type of probability percentage that the Cowboys could lose. I think it's small but, after all these years, we've seen just about every way things can go wrong. I don't think any Cowboy fan could be blamed for being a little paranoid.

The Packers were up by 8 points lol, even with that call, no guarantee the Chiefs get into the endzone, or get the 2 pt conversion.

Furthermore, you are ignoring the horrible roughing call on Owens for hitting Mahomes. You are also forgetting that right before that DPI happened, the refs incorrectly stopped the clock after the Chiefs WR went out of bounds going backwards, the clock should have kept running and game over by then.

Green bay is really no better than us playing the Giants to be honest. There is no way Dallas loses to a team with a defense as bad as Green Bay's. Dak is gonna have a field day against that secondary. Cowboys with a 40 burger easy.

The Packers ppg is 10th in the league. It was 12th before Sunday.

Love has been way better then Hurts this season but okay. He has been better then Stafford this season too.

That Detroit win was not impressive. Goff had a fumble 6. The ball went forward about 7 yards so you can argue it was an incomplete pass but they called it a fumble and it went for 6 the other way. Either way, it was an extremely flukey play.

Then Dan Campbell fails on a fake punt but he was in desperation mode and wouldn't make that call if that other play was called right. So that's another GB TD.

without those 2 plays. The first one flukey and directly resulted in the 2nd one even existing....Detroit could've won that game. Packers offense did nothing after the first 2 drives.

Not sure I call that win impressive. Only thing they did all year that might've raised an eyebrow is beat the Chiefs. Beating the Rams with Brett Rypien doesnt count.

Right. I respect Green Bay but I’m not worried about them. I think the only way they win is if Dallas beats ourselves. I forgot about the failed punt play in the Detroit game. That was kind of a fluke game.

Going into this weekend I wanted the Saints or Green Bay as the 1st playoff game. Saints for obvious reasons. Green Bay cuz Love has never played in the playoffs and they beat some bad teams. I did not want to play Hurts or Stafford straight out if the gate. Something about QBs and teams that have recently won Super Bowls or been to a Super Bowl makes me nervous.

But it’s playoff time and all the teams are good so I’m hoping Dallas doesn’t relax. If we play our game we should win.

Remember how dangerous Tampa was until we crushed them in the playoffs? Soon as we beat them the narrative changed to how they didn't belong.
