I heard our top 3 WR's on our depth all are wearing visors....ever since roy got here i know T.O. started wearing one and know i've been told miles a patrick are wearing one...

LOL why do you care what type of hat/visor they are wearing? I would guess a visor because it lets the heat escape their head while still blocking the glare from the sun?

That probably is not "why" they are wearing it...Looks like Roy Wi11 sold em on some fashion tips...I didn't like the look for TO last year, haven't seen MA or Crayton yet.

i understand if they keep it during the season...but we never had that til Roy got here thats all i said...

It's to prevent you from seeing theyre actually wearing ballcaps backwards.

It is to protect themselves when David Buehler kicks off. The ball might shatter into tiny bits.

Smart of them.

I wonder, aside from sun protection, if the visors limit the defender from seeing the eyes of the receiver? I know that they coach the defender to watch the receivers eyes to get a clue if the ball is coming to him or not?

lol you guys cant help but be ********** can you?

To the OP, I'm not sure why. I'd assume sun/protection and they're getting used to them now? Dont know.

Really, I read that it keeps the DBs from seeing their eyes, which can give them a clue that the ball is on the way.

Oops, 5stars beat me to the punch.

You are correct. I was actually trying my hand at sarcasm earlier not realizing that what I said is partially true as well. :)

No. They coach the defender to cover his man. If a receiver is running a crossing route you can't see his eyes trust me. I used to play DB.

Maybe they wear it instead of a head band to keep sweat out of their eyes. Who knows, maybe it looks cool to them or getting some kickback from the manufactor for wearing their gear.

I used to play DB too and if you're back pedaling you can take a quick glance at the receivers eyes in case they are giving away the part of the field they are looking at.

Not something that's totally reliable but it is something that is there. Of course you "cover your man", it's not like you just stand there watching his eyes. Looking at his eyes is just another way to possible get a lead onto the direction he is going. After that progression and staying with your man, you can take a look into the backfield and try to quickly pick up the quarterback's eyes.

There's many ways and little nuances to being a defensive back. It's not simply "go cover him". Maybe in Peewee football, yeah..
