What's your definition of all in?

Whilst I wouldn't have signed him for $60 million a year the Cowboys were seemingly always resigning Dak.

In which case why not resign him early doors to free up more cap space?

- Sign Derrick Henry (he was waiting for the call).

- Trade a 3rd for Devante Adams. Lamb one side and Adams the other...

Let's go along with the premise that the injured key defenders come back for the last third of the regular season thus allowing the young guys to gain the experience in the interim.

Surely even Dak could reach the Superbowl with all that talent around him in a dysfunctional and indifferent NFC?

Would that be all in?

IMHO the only true definition of all in involves trading away future draft picks to help the present or spending future cap dollars to support the present.

We do not do much of the former but we certainly like to do the latter.

I would say we are currently moderately all in.

Do I think we are good enough to justify sending away future draft picks to help support this year? Good lord no.

Regardless of the Dak deal or whatever

They should absolutely be in on Davante Adams right now. They should also be in on Diontae Johnson, Christian Kirk, and any other WR who might be available.

I can only assume you have not bee n a fan of the team for very long. I will never understand anyone who has been a fan of the team for a long time would make a statement like this. Do you have a short memory. Just forgetful perhaps?

I don't know what this is supposed to mean.

Just because Joey Galloway or Roy Williams trades didn't work doesn't mean they should never trade for another player again. They have a ton of cap space and a massive hole at WR. Adams is a no brainer.

If I had complete control of the Cowboys, my definition of “all in” would have included signing Henry, and making a push for multiple DL/LB in free agency/via trades. I also loved Xavier Worthy in the draft and would have tried to move up a couple spots for him (not that I don’t like Guyton).

Basically, “all in” to me would have meant adding several playmakers.

For me, all is was just PR talk that I never put and stock in. What they ate doing is trying to retain homegrown talent, have a good draft, develop young players and hopefully sign a quality FA. They waited on Lamn and Dak to spend late and avoid the FA temptation. All in, usually means this year and not for the future...pretty obvious they are looking forward and understand we couldn't put together a great team with all the holes and a lame duck staff.

We fans took it as him meaning, "he will do whatever it takes to win this year", but that's not what he meant at all.

I said back when Jerry first used that phrase that he likely meant it like in Poker where you go "all in" when you think you have a winning hand or you want people to think you have the winning hand.

In other words Jerry basically said, "We're going with the hand we have" ..

You look at where you need help and you get the best available solution

No ifs ands or butts about it

I don’t care what they say they could’ve got Derrick Henry if they absolutely wanted him

The definition everyone seems to have is to give up everything you have for one season. Trade away premium draft picks and bring in several veteran players. Putting all your chips on one season.

We are well past the judgement stage of GM decisions, dont care about player contracts at this point.
Its win mode or be defeated, so we are all in.

Using all available resources to shore up or at least attempt to shore up your teams biggest weaknesses. They have 20+ million they could have used on rental players specifically at DT, CB, and RB to immediately add depth to depleted roster.

well that is how fish has explained it. All in with what we have, but that is inaccurate use of the "all in" which is a poker term,
and what he is really doing is standing pat, and saving as much cap this season as possible, so they can use it next season........if they
want to lol.

I can see them just signing parsons for 40-45 mil, then do nothing else again.
The may keep mike, or make zimmer HC lol.
There is no reason to think they will go the "REAL" ALL IN in 2025.

When I look at the off-season the Rams had when they won the Super Bowl. That's what I think when I hear "all in".

When you're close (or think you're close) and you take risks to get yourself the extra pieces that should hopefully help get you over the top.

Hell, I'd trade ever single pick of next year's draft just to be able to watch my Cowboys in a Super Bowl again (especially with a win).
