Anyone see the new Kendrick video for The Heart Pt. 5 with all the deep fakes?

Will Smith Kendrick Lamar is going to haunt me forever.

Anyway, great track. Kendrick is always in his own lane, never following trends, but always fresh sounding. Damn. Rich and deep lyricism as well. K-dot is still the best wordsmith in the rap game until proven otherwise, imo.

Best new hip hop artist in 2020. Referred to as a pandemic artist, because he couldn't really tour or market his stuff that way.

I did some research on this guy. He's not just a really good hip hop artist, he's also a phenomenal gossip/country singer.

In fact, his real name is Kirk Jay.. On the Voice, he wowed everyone when he did the cover by Rascal Flatts called "Broken Road.

Here's that video.

To find his hip hop music, you would want to search "RMR" and listen to "Rascal" or something like that.. He's got some good stuff across both genres.

He wears a mask as RMR, so he doesn't reveal his hip hop music to his country fans, which is sad that some can't just appreciate his talent in the genre they listen to. Anyway, good stuff in this thread. I was digging through it a while back, and found some good stuff.

Am certain part of this video was filmed at St Marks Place which was also used for the cover of Zeppelins Physical Graffiti album.
I grew up playing that genre of music with my uncles.. One of them was a 9 time Grammy winner in country music. I've met Willie, actually, Wilie is partly why my family ended up in Austin. I've also met Dolly Pardon, Ray Benson, Chet Atkins, and George Straight who I didn't even recognize because he was wearing flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt and a Rangers baseball cap. I wasn't ever really into country, except for maybe two-stepping with the ladies. But I still appreciated their talent. Asleep at the Wheel always had crazy talent in their band, too.

I learned a lot watching them record Chet.. because Chet was known to be a great player. At 70-years of age, he was still a brilliant player.. But he made mistakes, and told me that that's just part of playing, no matter your age. It's not that you make mistakes, it's how you recover. In the studio, you obviously redo the take.. But, he was talking about in live situations.

Anyway, my uncle played with the wheel, and another guy named Bubba Cox, and was the engineer/producer here in Austin at a studio called Bismeaux. That's where I met a few of the artists mentioned above. Willie used to hang out with my uncle Larry... and also Lyle Lovett would crash at his house sometimes. It was a trip. He himself was low-key, mostly known by some famous people, but he wasn't famous, per se.. But definitely well-respected in the business. And he and his brothers were all great mentors to me growing up.

The Reo Brothers are known for imitating some great Beatle songs, but they do imitate other artist as well!...

Those guys rock! Check out these guys in Hawaii.. Same song.. My teacher growing up...

This dude does some great Beatles covers. He has other stuff on YT, but you gotta dig for it. Amazing underground player though. Doesn't want to be famous...

Back in the day, I remember going to watch WC Clark, before Stevie Ray was a big deal. But Stevie was in the band. He originally wrote "Cold Shot."

Anyway, WC and Larry were friends. Old Austin guys who owned their respective scenes, locally, but they had a lot of respect for each other.

Here he is doing WC Clark. Not Stevie's version. How WC did it..

Here's RMR in one song that doesn't have any profanity.

I like this one because you have to dig deep for the meaning. It's not what it seems.

Is he talking about being a recovering addict? It was interesting and much more creative than I'm accustomed to. No double cups and money stacks lol!!?

Refreshing tbh..appr the info on him I haven't heard him before.
