If you like 36, this is a pretty good interview from Crunchy, swear he's your uncle sitting outside every time you visit lol. I knew tear da club up had some issues where people were literally tearing the clubs apart when they performed this song so they were asked not to perform it anymore. "They Don't Dance No More" had the same "ban" but ddn't know of the extreme it went to

Biggie have you watched Hip-Hop Evolution on Netflix? Really great show if you haven't. Anyway, I recall they touched on that in one of the episodes about the Memphis area hip-hop.

I'm not a guy. Does it still count?! :p

Oh absolutely it counts! Missy Higgins (Australia) is one of my fav artists and if I'd been a girl, it would've broken my heart when she got married - (in fact I KNOW it broke several.) ;) Most of her songs are about x girl friends.

No but I really need to, it's been in my queue forever and been meaning to. You gave me some incentive tbh if they have a memphis segment.

I always feel those docs are going to be NY centered from the late 70s, etc. well bc they should seeing as that's where rap started, lol, but always wish they hit on what other cities were doing, esp Memphis/Atl/Houston/No while most of the country were listening to Wu, NWA, Biggie and Pac.

There was a wealth of unchecked talent going on in the southern and smaller cities; you probably relate being from Boise/me in D.C. What about our cities??:D:huh:

I think you'll enjoy it. They kind of go through the evolution of the genre through the years (hence the name haha) and then they go through all the different areas of the US that influenced different sounds of hip-hop. If you watch it let me know what you think!
