Im in a Skynyrd mood lately
•Swamp Music....boy this has an early 70's Elvis feel.
•Call Me The Breeze...GREAT song...especially loud.
•Roll Gypsy Roll...one of my favorites from their excellent Gimmie Back My Bullets album.
•All I Can Do Is Write About It....beautiful song.

Car Seat Headrest will be one of the best bands to come out of this generation.

A singer like Will Toledo, with that sort of awkward, doesn't give-a-**** stage presence, who writes incredibly witty, deep, yet smart-*** lyrics + a guitar player of that curly haired guys caliber... and you have a band that can kick some hiney.

They should be called - Millennials: The Band.

I liked them at first, but they got old quick. Then there's the whole BS story about their name, and that it doesn't come from the Alice in Chains song.

They are great to me. I consider them the Black Sabbath of the 90s and 2000s. Heavy Groove Metal. Which while I like some speed metal, I will take Groove Metal all day every day. Pantera is Groove Metal too and I love me some Pantera!

I just listen to their new album though and it sounds more like Buck Cherry than Godsmack. (maybe I need to listen to it a bit more)

As for the name. I just Googled it. Rumor it was taken from Alice in Chains song God Smack, but a 1999 interview said Sully was making fun of someone with a cold sore one day only to get one himself the very next day and a friend said that it was a Godsmack and the name stuck.

Personally, I don't really care. If I like the music that is all that matters to me.

I heard that too, but it's a crock. Even their logo screams AiC.

Another Thomas Vent song that I go Ga Ga for the first minute, or so and then it goes elsewhere... I wish I could find someone to finish this one to what I would like. I have scenes and a character with the same name that this would...
It would blow doors off.

The scene even deals with Vodou and slavery so this song could really be something, for background...
