What is sad is they made a GREAT movie about N.W.A. (Dr. Dre/Ice Cube) but 2Pac can't seem to get himself a good movie. Both attempts failed imo. The last one had potential but the entire movie felt super rushed.
The HBO documentary about NWA was amazing, too. I didn't mind the HBO film, but it was a lot of fluff, admittedly. And you're right, rushed. They wanted to pop it out. They had the perfect actor for it.

Man, hip-hop was SO amazing back then. Today? I don't know what happened.

Trouty, for some reason I wasn't a HUGE Jay-Z fan. I didn't mind some of his music, and he had some great albums, but overall he just didn't do it for me. With that said, I have a new respect for him since I saw his interview on David Letterman's new Netflix show. Seems like an alright dood.

I really have enjoyed Jay-Z in guest appearance rolls though. This one for example. I love the line he throws down, "They call me King Hov, copy? Big balling is my hobby! So much so they think I'm down with the Illuminati. haha

Gucci Mane happened. I'm somewhat guilty obv liking some trap myself, but see it as more a guilty pleasure than actually being good hip/hop. Gangster rap turned into trap and it hasn't been the same since. Swear some of it is the rampant ADD from all of our social media ruining our attention spans. The bars/verses are half a sentence now with a catchy beat to hypnotize you basically. Mulder agrees :D

Our one saving grace today!! lol

Also, as mentioned previously, I am a huge 2Pac fan. It was extremely hard for me to do this, but, this last couple years I finally gave in to my internal struggle I had about this.......but........I think Eminem is the GOAT. The guy is just CRAZY talented.

Who else can come out with a song called "Rap God", which is a bold statement, and everybody was like, "Aight! You can have it man!"

No don't think so, but will try to find it online. It was the one that focused on his mom mostly and believe I watched it on Youtube (not sure if the same one?)
No, this one touched base on his mom, and his relationship with Jada, but it's mostly about his journey. They crop a ton out. They allude to Biggie killing him.

It isn't good, but it isn't bad. You have to watch it as a hip hop/rap head, tho, brudda

You guys watched the Who Killed Biggie and 2pac that USA released a few months ago? Now that was very well done I thought. It's pretty obvious who killed them both. There was some shady things going on in the LAPD back in the 90s.

Maybe that's what I keep thinking of? I've seen like 5 documentaries and/or movies on the subject in the last year, seemingly, and I keep getting them crossed up I think
