Whats your take on Trey Lance

Hope Lance goes to the right situation... that's what it's about for him. 49ers should take Fields, he would make that team dangerous w/ that scheme Shanahan has.

Yeah, obviously, but the skill is
It's not. Mahomes is an incredible passer w/ great arm talent. Lance is a runner and very questionable as a passer. Slow processor at this point. Cam Newton or EJ Manuel are much better comparisons.

28tds to 0 INTs shows skill as a passer.

Look up the criticisms of Mahomes on this board leading up to the draft, guarantee you'll see the same thing. Playmaker, big arm, doesn't read the field, raw as a QB.

I think he’ll get drafted way higher than I would take him. He’s a bag of tools at this point with a ton of question marks.

- One (1) game with more than 300+ yards
- Offense scheme that ran for more than 4,000 yards
- Effectively just one season of experience
- Inferior competition level

Josh Allen is the case study that would give teams hope, but I’m skeptical.

No, it doesn't.

No, you won't. Their scouting reports are miles apart. Mahomes was a passer in college. Lance is a runner. They are polar opposites.

I think it’s for Fields jmo
That's the only one that makes sense. Lawrence is going #1, w/ the Jets being the wild card. Would not be shocked at all if they took Wilson or Fields. Don't know.

And Allen has gone out of his way and worked his bum off to become a better passer. Took lessons independently of the team to correct mechanical flaws.

there is risk drafting any qb regardless of who or where.
i'd take the risk with his up-side.

Not to me. Lance is more accurate IMO, throws the best deep ball of any of these QBs, he's a more athletic, more accurate Dak to me. Plus, he called all his own protections at the line at NDS. The Ohio State kid, not so much. Not as accurate and has definite issues reading the field. He's a two read QB at this point. To me, Lawrence is much more capable right now, at least at this point in his development.

Folks, listen to ABQ....he also said Durant would never work in Golden State because nobody would pass the ball.

HE.KNOWS.HIS.STUFF.

the kind of decision that you gladly let other teams make. the odds that he pans out as a high pick are pretty slim. even if he does it will likely take a while. experience matters and he just doesn't have much.

Assuming the Jets go Zach Wilson at #2 (though, there’s no guarantee they do), I can see the 49ers grabbing Lance and letting him sit a hear behind Garappolo.

He is not going to be doing all that running around like college. He will get killed. Lance runs straight up and that's not good. Some LBer will take his head off.
