I disagree.....if I know what play you are calling then it makes it easier for me to defend. it was way way way too predictable. the original poster is right, JG out smarts himself too often. I would have thrown the ball on maybe the 2nd or 3rd down, specially because I have been running it down their throat for 90 yards, knowing that's what they expect. even if throwing a curve ball, knowing they might expect it, throw the curve ball, just to make them think about it. instead he out smarts himself.....

You mean like he did on the goal line a few weeks back when Romo threw the pic from the one b/c he couldn't get it to Witten. That week, when everyone complained that Garrett outsmarted himself by throwing it from the one yard line?

It's pretty easy to speculate what might have happened if we called something different after failing 4 times from the goal line. That's just bush-league second-guessing. There was *nothing* wrong with trying to run the ball in against this team in that situation. We should have scored, period, but the team wasn't good enough to get it done today.

I'm really not surprised to see everyone blaming the OC, but it is silly when we left 10 points on the field through poor execution.

Don't you realize that most arm chair coaches/qb's utilize hindsight on all their play calls.

If you're referring to the goal-line series, I indeed was looking for a QB sneak.

But if your Oline cant get you into the endzone there, I dont care what you call. You dont deserve to win anyway.

I believe if your OL can't block in a goal line situation, you should probably not use the goal line formation.

**** conceding victory because you can't excel at one formation.

Just me though. Once or twice might be okay but at some point you gotta try something else.

Just another drop in the bucket of reasons why Garrett pisses me off. Dude can barely handle running an offense and were supposed to think he's gonna make a hell of a coach? Wishful thinking never hurt, I suppose.

Oh, and if anyone can produce the number, I'd like to know how many times Dallas has used play action this season. Seems like Dallas rarely uses it and despite its success when used. Last two weeks, play action produced two redzone TDs when the defense completely sold out on the run. Just a little curious why its rarely used.

I know. It just kills me to watch this team not be able to get it done when the plays are *right there* to be made. I'm sick to my stomach tonight, and log on to find our fans mad at the coaches when the team coughs up another hairball. Go figure.

I think the players have to make a play in that series. That series is all about player attitude and the desire to punch the ball in the endzone.I never saw that desire.

I also fault Wade for not demanding perfection and attention to detail from this team. This team isn't the most talented, but they aren't bottom dwellars either. What they lack in talent can be made up playing relatively mistake free football and executing.Combine those traits with a desire to be the best and you should have success.

I agree with that, too. Wade's pretty good with game planning and teaching. He's great at calling defenses. He falls down when he let's players get away (and keep starting jobs) with mental errors and sloppy play. He's had Austin, Free, and Felix Jones--all viable starters--on the bench the last two years, when he's had obvious issues with the players starting at WR, LT, K, and RB. He's reluctant to pull the trigger, and slow to enforce accountability by giving/taking playing time. It hurts us.

I fully expected there would be a mindless contingent that would again blame the coaching for the PLAYERS problems.

Geesh. He passess too much. He runs too much. He isn't balanced enough. He is too smart. He is too cute. He underthinks. He overthings. He doesn't think.

Whatever....the morons will rule the day and we'll end up with a new coordinator that will take us back OUT of the top ten offenses next year....and to a losing record again.

Well, if it's the players, whose fault is that?

Uh, Jerry Jones.

If we are drafting and signing players who can't get it done, then you need to look at the organization in general.

But I don't think it's the players. And if it's not, it's the coach.

The coach sets the tone, the attitude for a team. Wade just can't do it. And I doubt with Jerry Jones as leader, we'll get anybody other than a Wade-type personality.

I hated that we just kept trying to run into the teeth of the defense. Why not have Felix or Choice in there and try something more to the outside?

Why not play action there, since we'd been running so well getting us down to that point, and hit an easy TD pass with Tony like we did later?

It's not really all that hard to figure out what to in that situation if you ask me.

And by who? Garrett does what he wants because he's the anointed one.

Overruled......goodness. Hopefully he wiped all the turd off that after pulling it out of his ***.

We're already out of the top 10 offenses. We're 13th in scoring right now.

Yards don't go on the scoreboard. Points do.

it is rather strange how the 2nd-biggest Oline in the league can't gain a single yard in 4 attempts

Because the second biggest does not equate to 2nd best. They're mediocre to average.

Rember that early game - I thik it was Denver - when Garrett called back to back to back fades that fell incomplete? The Garett apologists blamed the execution, but nearly all analysis - including former players and coached who are now analysts - said how dumb it was to run that same play over and over and over in the red-zone, especially so close to the goal line. And here we are today, with Garrett doing the same thing, only running the ball, but again, on back to back to back plays. Must be the execution.

I don't recall a single poster blaming execution on those back to back fades. But, whatever.

You're barking nuts if you think not getting a yard in four runs against a weak defense with a fourth string NT is on he OC, though. Not that anyone expects you to see past your agenda, anyway.

I do. There was plenty of them.

I did not mind the 4 straight running plays. You gotta be able to get that yard with a big high paid o-line like that.

I admit I totally disagree with the 4th down play call. I would have preferred they either use a lead blocker for Barber or fake it to him and pitch it to Jones.

The back to back fade calls were pretty much universally recognized as mistakes. And second-guessing the running plays yesterday is easy to do after the fact, but it doesn't mean that it wasn't a perfectly acceptable call.
