When did Singletary fire Greg Manusky?

Thank you.

I have my doubts that she got that info right.

There were reports of Manusky having dinner with Wade and Jerry in Mobile. Maybe that pissed Singletary off? Maybe Manusky getting the DC job ahead of him did? I don't know.

As of right now, I don't think the guy has been fired by San Fran, but I would love it if she scooped that.

It would be the first thing she's scooped. Except for maybe cleaning up after her dog.

She did get wrong that he was the guy Wade wanted over Stewart. He may have wanted him, but the guy was hired by San Fran before Wade was even hired here. John Pagano was publicly reported as the guy that he wanted, but the Chargers wouldn't budge. He settled on Stewart, who they initially balked on buy eventually let go.

That was an interesting situation b/c it was reported that the rift between the GM and Schottenheimer happened over assistants leaving -- Wade and Cameron were not a problem but Chudzinski and Manusky's departures broke camel's back. There was considerable pressure from Jerry and the league to let Stewart move to Dallas for the promotion.

I honestly can't think of a reason why Manusky would see Dallas as a better career option. Whatever he does, Wade is going to get the credit. Much like Ron Rivera experienced in Chicago. In SF though, everyone knows that Singletary is not a strong X and O guy - that D is clearly Manusky's. Of course, Manusky was hired as DC over Singletary but I doubt that Mike is carrying a grudge since he ultimately got the HC job.

He probably figures Wade is a lame duck anyway and next year Maybe JG would keep him as DC if he did a good job this year. How's that for drawing up a play in the dirt.

And if he continues to have success in SF, he's a guy who is going to get some HC interviews...

Well, there are a few things going for Dallas. For one, we have a lot more talent on defense and can rush the passer pretty damn well. Any DC would love to have our sack numbers on his resume. We also have a much better shot at winning a championship than San Francisco does. Plus, at least you know for certain the owner wants to win and will do whatever it takes to win. I don't know about San Fran now, but in recent history that didn't seem to be true for them. Then there's his relationship with Wade. Obviously they're close enough friends to go to dinner together.

My guess is Jerry and Wade expressed their interest at the dinner and it's just not going anywhere because they won't let him out of his contract (which was 5 years, $7.5 million).

Well, this whole scenario was based on the idea that Singletary had fired him.

Sure - but look at how dominant the D in Chicago was under Rivera -- the perception was that he didn't do anything b/c it was really Lovie's D. That's gotta be on his mind seeing that Rivera ended up with Manusky's old job in SD (i.e., a demotion)

We have a lot more talent in Dallas on defense than they do in San Diego, if they let him out his contract in SF because he doesn't want to be there, it would be a great move for both parties.

yet, despite that SF game up only like 1 more point per game than we did.

I'm lukewarm on Manusky.

I would rather have Sean McDermot from the Eagles. He spent over 10 years under Jim Johnson, coaching both LBs and Secondary. This guy knows how to teach the zone blitz, the right way (as in disguised).

Wades' defenses don't get enough pressure for you?

What's it going to be then, eh?

And he knows next to nothing about the 3-4. But in a perfect world, he's a good choice and is one of the supposed up and comers.

Wade's D has no problem with pressure, but his LBs and secondary have a huge problem in coverage and forcing TO's.

That is this guy's specialty. The Eagles' secondary has been consistently good for a decade, and McDermott developed the new LBs as well (all 3 can stone the run, cover and pass rush (not to mention disguise their blitz).

Wade's 3-4 is more like a 4-3, Wade has said this ad nauseum.

Uh, no. He hasn't. He consistently calls his 3-4, the Philips 3-4.
