When 34 OLBs started voicing they should get the same Franchise tag compensation as 43 DEs!When did the position of Defensive End get changed to "Edge Rusher"? Who is responsible for that? I hate it......

It's been that way for a while now, but the media is just catching up because standard positions and 4-3 vs 3-4 defenses really don't exist in todays game. Aside from Corners, everything has basically turned into some degree of a hybrid position.
By today's standards everyone pretty much falls into either an Edge, IDL, Off ball LB, CB, FS, or hybrid Safety/LB. It's all about position flex based on the matchups week to week.
Our traditional understanding of a defensive depth chart is almost dead.
