When do you think Jerry made the decision to release T.O.??

I'm listening to the Michael Irvin Show right now and the question came up.

I'm thinking what probably finalize it for Jerry to make the decision now.

I don't think it was done over night I think Jerry got the input from the staff and came to the conclusion it was in the best interest to do this now.

I'm sure there was some indecisiveness this is a big move releasing TO so Jones was not going to lay his cards down until he knew for sure.

I think Jerry has done a great job of putting talent on this team - the job of a GM.

That said, cutting Terrell Owens is not increasing the talent level of this team. It doesn't fix the problems with this team, or come even close. On top of that, it is costing this team money to needlessly deprive ourselves of one of the top receivers in the league. Think for a second about how irrational that is. We are paying money to deprive ourselves of talent. That is what it comes down to.

So, he has reduced the talent of the team, and lost money through the move.

I just wish iron-willed Jerry lasted one more year. I'd be a lot more hopeful for 2009 than I am at this point. A wavering leader is the last thing this team needs.

There is no question the individual talent on the team is less without Owens, he's still a top-five receiver in the league. But ultimately, we will be better as a team -- you're going to see a huge difference in Romo in particular, distributing the ball all over the field, Brady style.

Honestly, I think the only thing tearing at Jerry was the publicity that Owens generates -- he's opening a brand new stadium and having as many star players as possible only helps sell tickets. Ultimately, he chose winning over publicity. This will look far more like a team now.

He made probably made the final decision right before he did it but he'd been thinking on it since the end of the season.
