This is not a question of when you would draft a first-round quarterback. You know exactly what you would do if you were the general manager because you are certain what should be done in every situation to improve the franchise. No. This is not about what you would do. This is a question of what you think the guy below may do.

You have the option of changing your vote if necessary.

They'd mess it up. The wanted Paxton Lynch in the first and almost traded up for him.

Judging from whom he has wanted in the first round—Lynch, Manziel—and from whom he has found by accident later— Romo, Prescott—I say he is better off staying out of the first round.

Justin Herbert ,Oregon. If we move on from Dak then we need to do everything to land a QB of our choice.

Or draft a sure fire talented QB .

Well we are going to need draft capital most likely to move up in a draft to do such a thing, so we would need to think seriously about trading Zeke like the thread stated that was moved down to the drama zone.

In other words, outside the box thinking will come into play here before it is realistic.

However, I do not think they will based on their history of decision making and previous statements made on the subject. So after 2021.

If the Cowboys wet the bed in 2018, they had better make a run for Herbert or another highly touted QB in the 2019 draft.

The move was for Carson Wentz.

They had all of the information in the world. I wish I knew their true evaluation of him.

Or sign a talented first rounder after they are broken down—Bledsoe, Testeverde, Leaf.

I guess my point is I’m not sure if Jerry can find a truly great QB in the first round. It’s hard to do.

When is Jerry's grandson eligible for the draft?

That's because the scheme and coaching need to be in place. Doesn't metter who they draft with Garrett and Linehan here. It will just be the same deal.

I don’t think we can realistically answer this question with so many variables. How does Dak play, how high are they picking, how good are the QBs in the draft, how high are they going to go, etc..

If I had to choose, it would be after the 2021 season just because of how unpredictable all of the scenarios are and the history he has as a GM of not doing it.

Of course all of this would be irrelevant if I were the GM as I was one of the very few advocating trading up for Goff (and to a lesser extent Wentz) 2 years ago.
