I got to thinking today...and that is usually a dangerous thing :) .

The Cowboys have been pretty blessed in the injury department at Quarterback.

Quincy Carter started every game in 2003. Surprisingly enough, Vinny Testeverde only missed 1 half of a game and this year Drew Bledsoe started every game for us. Even though we are started Wiley vets at Quarterback, and they are being sacked like crazy, these guys are still not getting hurt.

When do you think the fortunes turn and do you think it is only a matter of time before it bites us in the but. I really thought if Quincy and Testeverde went down 2 years ago and last year and/or if Bledsoe goes down this year, it would have been a sunken season.

Would we would have scrambled to grab somebody off the streets or the Waiver wire in 2003, 2004, or 2005, or do we roll with Hutch in 03, Henson in 04, or Romo/Henson (take your pick) in 2005?

Please stay on top...and please no bashing...ya know who ya are ;) .

I say our good fortune at QB ran out when Aikman retired,, haven't had anyone decent back there since. I was hoping that Carter or Testie would get hurt and let someone else play. Bledsoe,, he is ok. Not excited about him being back there, but he is better than the previous two at least.

No no...I meant injury wise and what ya think we would have done if one occured from 03-05.

I thought I had heard every dang name in the book for Mr. Vinny, seems a year after he has exited...I have found another.

LMAO!!!

Blessed, or cursed? Guess it depends on your perspective.

maybe if Bledsoe should go down, Bill feels that Romo could lead us in his stead? that article Woody's Girl just posted froms Scouts, talking about our QB situation, brought up an interesting point, Bill's decision to rely on ROmo as our back-up, a plan, or monumental gamble that paid off this year? I like to think of it as a little bit of both

Bledsoe is made of steel. He apparently gets to decide if he comes out of a game too. I can see how that would be frustrating if you're behind him on the depth chart.

I never wish injuries on players but I gotta admit I kind of wished it on Testaverde just so we could have actually build for the future. Man the more and more i look at last season the more I see what a wasted year that was

in 2000 aikman went down then cunningham then we had anthony wright, 2001 quincy carter got hurt in the first game of the season, then we had wright, then stoerner, then leaf and then back to carter(i think thats the order) its was pretty much no injuries since then

Testaverde should have never seen the field again after he went down

Okay, I now understand the "good fortunes" thing about QB injuries...when I first saw the title, I was dumbfounded because we haven't been blessed at the QB position in the past decade.

Let me first say that I have never wanted a player to get hurt! However, for the future of our team we would be better off if Bledsoe got hurt early in the season so we could let one of our young QB's get some playing time. It would let us see what we have for the future. Yes, we would probably lose a few more games with the younger QB but I believe it would pay huge dividends in the future. Who knows, either Henson or Romo could turn in a Brady like performance and lead us to the promised land next year. I highly doubt Bledsoe will ever get us there!!!

What makes you think it has been GOOD fortune that Vinny and Bledsoe stayed healthy the entire season?
I know, we might not have made the playoffs if either of those guys had gone down. Oh wait we did not make them with both of them on their feet (so to speak) at the end of either season.
Maybe we would have had to put in one of these young UNTESTED QB's should Vinny or Bledsoe have gotten hurt. Oh wait we still have not seen either for any extended time, and that does bode well for the future.
In the end the payoff would have been a lot better had both of them not been so durable. We would have our answer as to the future QB being on the roster, or if we need to go back to the drawing board.
