The Giants are suffering through a lot of the things we were suffering through in previous seasons. Eli is experiencing what it feels to have a pretty makeshift offensive line and a complete inability to run the ball.
They can't score consistently enough, and my guess is teams have adopted a 2 man under scheme against the Giants (I haven't seen them play since week 1). Where they are focused on taking Cruz and Nicks out of the game, especially when they can stop the Giants running game with 6 or 7 in the box.
What's worse is the Giants no longer have that stallworth defense they used to have. And they certainly can't stop the run. Without an explosive offense they are being truly exposed.
The way Kansas City is playing, I would suggest that it's likely they start the season 0-4 and given the rest of their schedule, they won't be likely to see the postseason or vie for the division.
After KC they play Philadelphia, who is going to Denver next week after showing they can't stop the pass. It's really possible that if we can beat San Diego, we can put together a comfortable cushion. I could see us having the only win outside of our division going into week 5. I still think we have major gains to be had with the return of Spencer and Ratliff, so I see a lot of upside for our team going beyond week 6.
I would even go as far to say that if we can beat Denver, we'll probably lock up the division pretty early, with the obvious caveat of needed to stay healthy.
