one thing that I will NOT tolerate is my players being giddy on the sideline because they think the game is over...BEFORE it's over.

I was watching last night...and freaking out over all the guys on the sideline being happy little campers before Arizona took the ball down the field and into FG position to win the game.

Fellas, the game ain't over until it's over.

Probably making too much of this...but I would never tolerate sideline celebrations until the game is OVER. Stay focused, as a team, until the final gun and MAYBE we might actually win a few of these games that we have been losing for years in the last minutes.

Im of the belief that you should enjoy each moment but don't reflect on it for too long (like get over it on the next play).

Our team has ADD. BAD. So for them I think you definetely have to go to extremes on keeping your focus.

Someone like New England who keeps their heads straight week to week and year to year you don't have to worry about.

The Cowboys on the other hand... Whoa boy..

... and kickers who miss field goals will change dirty diapers for the next six days.

and you'd think, if anything, after seeing this defense collapse week after week in big spots, the entire offense would be experiencing nervous twitches.

I'm reminded of Bart Starr saying that in the Ice Bowl, as the defense was coming off the field after holding Dallas in check on their last drive, Ray Nitchke passed Starr and said in an ominous voice, simply, "Don't let me down"

Celebrate all ya want after the play...it's an emotional game...then channel your emotions into exhorting your defense to step up, rather than being giddy and high fiving and celebrating.

How many times does these guys have to see the defense fold on the last drive before they realize, the time to celebrate is when the clock shows 0:00?

Juke,

This team is a reflection of the Owner and GM...dumb, unfocused and undisciplined with a tendancy to stick their foot in their mouths at every unopportune time...if Jason Garrett can win with this type of mentality, he deserves to be a first ballott Hall of Famer. I have no hope that he can overcome the Jerry Jones anchor that he firmly has wrapped around his neck.

If you were the owner...I would expect to get some free cannolis. That way we could use them to pelt the players who make boneheaded mistakes like barber. :D

You can bet he would not take his helmet off again after getting pelted with one of those and have cream all up in his dreads.

Mountain. Mole hill.

Happens all the time on all teams. Usually sideline shots of the team winning is all smiles. Losing team is all frowns. Even if there is a couple minutes left and a 1 point lead.

It's not life and death for these guys. Their biggest enemy is no longer the guy across the line of scrimmage, it's the owners who they think are trying to short change them in their fair share of the money. Don't get me wrong, I'd say at least 9something% of the guys love playing football. But I bet 100% love getting paid to do it.

This may be the first time i've heard this comment, EVER. A team is a reflection of their head coach, the guy they are around day in and day out, on the practice field, in meeting, on the sidelines with them, etc.

You live a sheltered life if you have never heard that saying.

Who knows, maybe you are a young person.

Then again if you have been on this board long enough you should have heard it.

Whether you've heard it one time or 50 times, it doesn't make it any more sensible.

You said it was the first time you ever heard of it...EVER. Which is kind of shocking to me.

I did not address the rest of your post.

Thanks.

with this team, the owner is the defacto HC and has been that for several years. that is a fact.

If we had a good defense, I would totally disagree with you. But, with this historically bad unit, one that barely escaped Sexy Rexy Grossman's all-world performance against them, I would think the offense would be in full panic mode that they left too much time on the clock.

BP should save some cannoli for Beeler.

No offense but you will never be a head coach in the NFL or college
