Not true. Many times over the years it had been said that Witten runs mostly option routes. So Witten is running the route that the defense is giving him, while they are sitting at the sticks. Tony is getting the ball to the reliable guy thinking he can break one tackle. It used to be money. Witten no longer has the speed and relies on his savvy veteran moves to get the first.

He's probably teaching EE how to prepare for practice, to prepare for a game, to take care of your body, to study film, to read defenses, to know what each player on the offense does, etc.

When you get a player doing all those things AND one who has massive talent, watch out.

Believe me, it's rarer than you think - even on the professional level.

I agree. I once heard Irvin say some guys can look at film all day and have no clue and learned nothing in the process. Witten got where he is by dedication and hard work and is respected around the league as hardnosed player.
