When That Countdown Clock Hits Single Digits for Days

I am going to finally get excited about the Draft getting here.

This off season has seemed to go on forever. First there was the whining about we weren't signing anyone. Then the never ending saga of will we trade for Pacman. The daily we are going to get Darren McFadden threads. Even my eternal optimism that we're completing a trade for Roy Williams.

I need some news stuff to talk about. I had hoped the schedule would revive some interesting stuff. It hasn't really lived up to my hopes.

Noon today my time. I'm going to be one happy football fan. Just seeing that sucker in single digits will lift my spirits a bit. Funny how something that minor can have an effect like that.

I was looking at the clock yesterday and thought the same thing.

I actually need a break from all the draft information to re-energize my enthusiasm. I get burnt out re-reading the same information day afer day.

I feel the same way. I have been waiting for the draft for a while now. There are a lot of scenarios on what we can do with our 2 first rounders. I am just ready to see how it all pans out.

Well I am nearly done with my video. Hopefully it will bring one last look at the season and get everyone pumped for the draft. I am hoping to have it done and ready for download sometime between sunday night and thursday night.

It will hopefully be 65 minutes everyone likes. The season really was special even though it ended horribly.

I am finishing the playoff game segment tongiht and tomorrow. Then I have to finish *gulp* the voice over and some touch up stuff. I am hoping to be done sat. night or sunday night and then will encode it and upload it. Should be about 6 parts.

No matter what I am hoping to have it done and on the board before we pick on the 26th!!!

Have been feeling a lack of enthusiasim myself and it has lead me to a question.

Has the NFL Network devalued or significantly reduced the impact of the draft?

There was a time when I looked at the draft as an NFL weekend oasis in the desert of the off-season. 2 wonderful days of nonstop football talk and news.

4-5 years ago, I use to watch the WHOLE draft. I'm not exaggerating here. I might miss an hour or two of coverage at most. My wife and before that girlfriend, knew this was my weekend. My football orgy weekend.

Now that I have NFL network availible, and watch some just about every day.

I'm not that thirsty.

I'll watch some of the draft. It'll be on one of my TV's most of the weekend, but in the background. It will only have my full attention when we are drafting.
