I think Felix’s biggest problem wasn’t talent. It was lack of love of the game. He clearly didn’t have the drive to be a great player.

That was the same year we took Mike Jenkins too isn’t it?

Lol I remember when people were like, "He averages 10 yards a carry doe", dude had a small amount of carries.
I recall the whole justification at the time, which was indicative of everything wrong with our draft philosophy. He was the pick as he was used to sharing the lode with another RB (D-Mac at the time at Arkansas). I mean REALLY!?! You take a back with your first rd pick because he doesn’t want to be THE MAN?!! Therefore he’d be cool sharing carries with Barber. The insanity of that whole narrative from the FO almost made me divorce the team. I was that pissed!?! I think I just threw up a little.

That ended up being the problem with Felix. He was OK splitting carries or being a backup. He didn't have the type-A personality and drive to last long.

I think McFadden has a bit of that also. He's a bit passive.

That Felix Jones pick
Yeah, right up there with the 1st and 2nd on Mo Clai.

The weirdest thing about that Felix pick was that the year was so great for running backs, and we still managed to pass on so many and take Felix.
Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Ray Rice, Matt Forte...passed on all of those guys for Felix:lmao:

I was ecstatic when we got those picks, especially the browns, just knew it was top 10...

Anderson and Edwards have their only good year in their career that year? Lol

To be fair, McFadden may have served better playing with Romo than in Oakland.

Yep, I knew something was up when they released the audio of him getting drafted and he had like a total "meh" attitude about it, like he didn't even really care one way or the other.

Bell went in the 2nd, but yes, you nailed another huge one.
:huh:Let's see, do we take Gaven freaking Escobar in the 2nd round or the guy taken one pick later, LeVeon Bell.:lmao2:

fwiw, every team has a few big misses like this. This team, overall, has drafted well compared to most the past 3-4 years.
