When/Which QB Should We Draft?

Most on this board believe we need draft a QB who we can develop and/or replace Romo down the road. Don't know which if any higher round QBs the Cowboys brought in to take a look at, but they did bring in several players from Southern Missouri State(?something like that) including OT Allen Barbre, OG Andy Alleman & QB Toby Korrodi.

I don't want the Cowboys to use any of our picks thru first 5 rounds on a QB. We've got too many needs & should find players who can help us at variety of levels. Korrodi is much further along then Palmer and probably won't go before 6th round. He's a southpaw and got lot of good intangibles including quick release, mobility around the pocket & can escape pressure (not a running QB tho), makes good reads cause his TD ratio to INTs is very impressive. I'd like Cowboys to draft Korrodi and develop him. Assuming Romo shows he's the player we hoped for, Korrodi can be developed and then if Romo still playing well, we can trade Korrodi for a first day pick.

I think Jarrod Zabranski has MOXIE. I watched him bow up like a show dog on my Sooners and the kid has a lil' somn' looks like to me. 6 round pick would not look bad to me.

I think we need to draft a QB every year and I agree with your assessment.

John Beck from BYU, and if it was the 3rd round I wouldn't gripe. 4th round I'd call it perfect. 5th round I'd call it a steal. I think he's the 3rd best QB in this draft and is flying a bit under the radar because he's in the Mountain West conference. Smart, accurate, mobile. Reminds me of Romo in that regard and I like having QBs with similar skill sets so if one is in the game the OL doesn't have to make a huge adjustment.

Jordan Palmer (homer pick, I know), Toby Korrodi, or (my favorite sleeper) Isaiah Stanback... most if not all of those three will still be looking for work in the 6th or 7th round...

I think Palmer would be a great pic as well. Most things I have seen about him say he has the build and the natural skills to be a great QB, but he just has to work on his fundamentals like feet work. I think with Garrett and Wilson here they could help him become more like his brother.

Barbre is from Missouri Southern State. Alleman is from Akron and Korrodi is from Central Missouri.

Ireland was reportedly at Michigan State's pro day looking at Drew Stanton.

I like some of the I-AA guys who moved down from I-A. Swogger, Rascati and Gutierrez

Swogger,Rascati and Gutierrez. Sounds like the most diverse law firm on the planet!:D Man you really are diggin' deep for guys, good work!

Trent Edwards before anyone else does but he's too good and will scare Romo or Jeff Rowe late.

I don't remember seeing this kid but once. Does he have the arm strength, Hos? Have you seen Rowe play?

Jordan Palmer could definately turn out to be a steal long term.

Maybe we should bring in Ricky Ray ...... <ducks> Hostiles slap of Doom!

:D
