And admit he was absolutely and undeniably wrong about Rolando. This is exactly why he is no longer a GM in the NFL. Rolando may have had some issues in the past, but athletic talent nor football smarts was definitely not one of them.

"Well, it's wide open; I mean wide open here. We got four names right now. You got Rolando McClain, who they traded for. I'll come back to him. Justin Durant, who started some games at outside backer for them last year. DeVonte Holloman, who started some games later in the season at inside and outside backer for them and then draft choice Anthony Hitchens.

The problem with the veterans, Durant and Holloman, is they're both, to me, the same guy. They're athletic, they can run. But they're not really good taking on blocks and being run stuffers.

McClain ... let me say this. I would never have taken this guy with the eighth pick in the draft. I think this guy is not good enough. I don't think he's physical enough. I don't think his instincts are good. I don't think he can cover; I don't think he can play. To me, it was a trade that is a waste of time. They were hoping, I guess, to get a big guy in the middle because Durant and Holloman aren't that kind of a guy. Hey, I'm going to go see them in 10 days. I hope he's not there to waste my time with him."

Alrighty then.

Casserly seems like a nice enough guy, but he's utterly clueless. I have no idea how he worked his way into the positions he's occupied.

He tells other guys really good bed time stories.

We should all start tweeting him and get him to wear a Rolando jersey like our enemy SAS

Casserly did one really, really good trade deal while in Washington, but he was a significant part of the reason the Texans had so many poor seasons. Didn't stock the team well when they had the abundance of draft picks, etc. Wasn't that impressed with him.

I remember 2011 when he didn't even have Cam Newton on his draft board, because of all his off the field issues or whatever.
One of the worst nfl talking heads on TV.

WOW! Its almost difficult to say that many things about someone and be completely WRONG on each and every one. Its like he won the stupid lottery!

Maybe when every single "expert" steps up and admits they were off in their assessment of the 2014 Cowboys in general.

I can understand not touching McClain because of his off the field issues and fact is that he quit the game at one point. But on the field he was pretty much always good enough to be a top tier LB when he played. Baltimore got him thinking they had their next star LB after Ray Lewis was gone. Whatever he had mentally that made him decide he didn't like it anymore should scare people off. But credit to him for finding his desire and being a solid player again.

Who did this guy GM again that he did some excellent job for that we're supposed to care what his thoughts on players are? I know he was GM in Washington and Houston but did he ever do anything of note as GM there? I honestly don't know what he did in the NFL as a GM to warrant my giving his opinion on NFL talent any sort of weight.

Apparently, being dead wrong is a career choice for casserly...

At the end of the 2009 NFL season, Casserly stated that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was playing through three broken ribs. His analysis, however, was refuted by Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who stated, "Who's been wrong more than Charley Casserly since he left the Commanders? Wherever he's been, whatever he's done, his percentage is like a meteorologist...He has no relationship with this team, I'd say less than zero. He's never here, I don't know if he's ever been to a game. He's never been to a practice...at least he put his name on it and I'll put my name on it and say, like he usually is, he's 100-percent wrong."

I saw him on some show saying McClain isn't playing as good as Cowboys fans think. this thread makes sense because I was watching it like wth is this guy talking about? he has an agenda though.

Charlie needs to get on his Romo jersey this week. SAS came out of the closet and now is applauding the Cowboys. He wouldn't have even taken the bet if he hadn't secretly wanted to wear the Star.

And those are the kind of guys that people say we shouldn't question.

McClain is an obvious talent. If you can't see that then you just suck at evaluating talent.

I could buy into saying he has some coverage issues but saying he isn't physical is just dumb.
