The very recent injury to Sean Lee is painful to watch. The guy deserves better, he really does. However, this team knew of his injury history, yet they took him in the 2nd round in 2010. They spent another 2nd round pick on Bruce Carter in 2011, even though he was still recovering from an injury from college. In 2013, they traded their 2nd round pick to move up to draft Morris Claiborne high in the 1st rd., then traded their 3rd round pick this year to move up & take Demarcus Lawrence high in the 2nd round. The three veterans have yet to play a full 16 game season, & Lawrence is still unproven. Their defense gave up the 4th most yards in NFL history. That was before DeMarcus Ware & Jason Hatcher left. The deepest draft in recent memory & they use 2 picks on 1 DE?! I don't know how these players will eventually pan out, but that's 6 high draft picks for four players, none of whom has proven his availability. No team can spend that much on so little without paying the price of failure.

It's Jerry Jones wanting blue light specials. It has to change or we will keep seeing these same results. There was a reason every team passed on them.

And not only did we waste the high draft pick on china doll Lee, we actually extended him. Baffling.

what do you expect, liek we are the only team that deals with this? that we will only pick guys who dont get hurt? Come on, everyone was gunning for Lee, and anyone would have taken him. Had it worked out, good hit, its not, time to move on. This is getting silly, its a tough sport, when these guys were coming up through it, they didnt have all the knowledge we have now. Lets let evolution take its course, we arent the only team that gets injuries.

You just don't take injured players, or ones with a history of injuries in the 2nd round. Those are the guys you reach for in the 4th or 5th rounds. If they're gone, then take a healthy player. At least they START OUT healthy.

Oh Snap! .... if the GM wasn't so "qualified" for the job you might have a point....oh wait a min.

Yes...it is a laborious task being a Dallas Fan. Certainly over the last 18 glorious years. Not sure this event will end anytime soon, maybe 18 more coming.

Jerry obviously put himself into the unfortunate bind of being pressured to chase the injured players again this year due to his past multitude of poor player contractual decisions. Being the fan that he is, he's also reluctant to part with those players once their health is compromised. He predictably gave Sean the benefit of the doubt and got burned in the process. He's still doing much the same this year with multiple signings of walking wounded.

I can see why he's being attracted to injured talent when the cap situation is in so much hot water but unfortunately, there comes a time when it's obviously not working. You can't help but wonder when that time might be recognized by those in charge. It sometimes seems like this team is caught in a managerial tarpit from which it can't escape.

They're going to read this post, and this thread, and then just for you draft 7 guys next year with injuries. In an unprecedented move, the Dallas Cowboys will start all of their draft picks on PUP for 2015's training camp.

You know it!

With all the operatives Jerry has lurking here we'll see it play out this way now!

Basically kids with injuries problems, come on, that can be anyone at anytime. Its harder when your older, most will bounce back and have no problems, some wont. I said it before ill say it again, the draft is a craps shoot. Buyer beware.

Pretty funny, blaming Jerry for Lees injury is just like saying its Bushes fault.

I gave you a like just because I feel your pain. Really makes it hard to find something worth reading on the board.

If you truly believe this, Dallas never drafts Larry Allen, who was not on the board for several teams.

Not to mention in order to get Lee it was yet another 2 for 1 deal

Here is the Eagles haul from the trade and two more trade backs:

The Cowboys got Lee; and the Eagles ended up with six players: Te'o-Nesheim, Harbor, Kafka, Sapp, Cooper and Lewis.

So overall, two of the players are no longer on the 53-man roster, and none of the other four are starters(Cooper is now)

Is your point drafting an injured player or trading up in the Draft. Morris and Lawrence had no injury history that I could find. On Lee your point is taken
