When will Pollard have a huge game?

It's not so easy being the lead back? Let's hope for a huge game against the Niners. Does it look like Tony has the same burst as last season?
He has had several good games. First week he averaged over 5 ypc and had 2 TD's. last week he had over 120 yards rushing. The week prior he showed his grit and toughness with 32 touches in a grind it out game against the Jets D.

So what are you looking for exactly? One of those 150 yards on 15 carries and 2 TD's?

Might need better Oline play for that and not a blowout.

You expect him to have a big game when they just keep repeatedly running him right into the middle of the line and not running when they get near the goal line?
They do run when they get near the GL. They run the ball on first down nearly every time. Problem is we dont go anywhere doing it. Or we go from the 10 to the 6 or 5 and still have to pass on 2nd down.

Who cares if TP has a big game or not? It's about winning.. 40 yards or 140 yards feels the same in a win. Just as it does in a loss. Pollard is just fine. People need to quit watching him looking for Zeke type runs. Different runners, different styles.. if the results are consistent then that is all that matters. We knew coming in that being the lead dog was going to roughen up the sledding for Pollard. So far he has handled it well. His blocking continues to improve though I think Dowdle has passed him up on that count which seems weird but Dowdle has a little more dawg in him anyway. I'm happy with what we're getting out of Pollard.. and as long as McCarthy remembers to put Leupke in on the goal line I think the red zone problems will go away.

He's 5th in yards, 2nd in rushes over 20 yards, and 3rd in attempts. He's producing just fine, with a banged up line.

That's my issue though. Don't just run it once then pass twice. If you're that close run it three (or even 4) times in a row. I know Pollard isn't a power back but he's also not Vaughn who weighs 150 pounds and will get blown away by a strong gust of win. We have a FB on the roster. Just go I-formation and pound it in. Maybe I've just become old.

Troy Hambrick was the fans sweetheart until he became the lead back also.

He is 5th in the NFL in rushing behind an OL that hasn't started all 5 starters yet. Not so horrible unless you are a Zeke apologist and prefer his 34 yards per game average. Let's root for the players that are here, not the ones that are not...

With what line? Even the starters that are playing are really banged up.
In Zek's heydays he didn't have complete healthy lines to run behind and he produced league leading numbers. As for Pollard, he came along at the right time when Zek finally coming back to earth and stopped being that dominating running back. Pollard is no young Zek and does not deserve to be paid ZEK money........................
